This is the strongest a Zelda game has ever felt. They actually fixed everything people complained about from Breath of the Wild. There's better music, there's actual dungeons, they even souped up the crafting system fixing durability. I find the story to be a bit better too, whereas the first one was about Link's memories, the sequel is about Zelda's memories, and it even ties into a spinoff where you get to play through them if you're interested. The series has never been in a better place than it is now. What would you like to see in the next entry? there's a lot of confidence Nintendo has inspired.
I just want proper dungeons
I liked the theme of hands joining together even if it was overdone, it sold the idea of Hyrule starting to form into a proper society again after the Calamity. But the next game should try to have some actual large towns, a full size Hyrule Castle Town as the main hub is something they haven't attempted yet in the current open world formula. Also change of setting and artstyle, but they pretty much already said they'd done everything they wanted with this Hyrule so I'm sure that will happen.
>>738179530It doesn't even look like a Zelda game.
>>738179530If this is a genuine conversation on fucking 4chan, I will chime in. Yes, they attempted to address all of the complaints of the previous game, because that is what Aonuma has always done. But they did fall short on each aspect. The music was either very similiar or just the same in a lot of the places. The dungeons were atmospheric but they lacked mechanical progression and did not center around giving Link a new ability to play with. The crafting system felt cumbersome when you had to take out the materials, and crafted items still barely had enough durability. The story would've been more interesting if it wasn't straight up predictable that Zelda is fine and we were following an imposter. The dragon plot twist also wasn't very meaningful because they just didn't commit to it in the end.Arguably, this format is still compatible with Ocarina of Time's approach, and the rumored remake would probably prove it, but the room for improvement is so high, I can't bring myself to praise what we've got after six years of waiting.
>>738179703>Also change of setting and artstyleI think this is the highest up my list of desires. I had the idea that a more realistic artstyle for the general gameplay would pair nicely with a celshaded enemies that invade from another dimension, sort of merging the two asethetics the franchise has sported together with a thematic through line.
>>738180269The dungeons DO center on an ability you get. The air glide in the wind temple, the rock smash in the fire temple, the water cutter in the water temple, ect.
>>738179530I think totK is the best Zelda game, but the fact that it reuses (actually salvages) totk's map and the boring Ganon plot bring it down
>>738179530I dropped it after 10 hours. I guess it's just not for me. I did complete BotW on master mode btw so it's not like I hate this type of Zelda. Non of the additions made me feel anything. It felt like a tired version of BotW trying hard to be relevant.
>actually fixed everything people complained about from Breath of the WildWhy are nu-zelda faggots so addicted to lying? Shrines are still here, koroks are still here, weapon durability is still a thing, the "dungeons" are still a complete joke, the world is still empty, there's still zero challenge and it's still just a shallow purposeless sandbox and not an actual adventure. Go back to the subreddit.
>>738180438Fair, but their purpose in the dungeon were just to activate the five terminals. Outside, they have some offense and traversal utility, but they did not change how you interact with the world at all, like with old dungeon items. At best, the main features like ultrahand would've been unlockables, but at least they should've tied the zonai parts to each dungeon. This way, players will actually experiment with the different items.
>>738180697You snoys have been seething about BotW for almost a decade. Give it a rest already
>>738181375kys
>>738179530>be a random dude with a sword (but you're courageous!)>chainsaw through rock golems outmassing you by four orders of magnitudeit feels sillier than usual in zelda for some reason
>>738181375I'm not a snoy, I'm a PC chad. Which means I also got to play a superior version of BOTW and it still sucked. You tendies have been filling the diapers for over a decade now everytime someone mildly scoffed at your ubislop.
>>738181375Yes, let's pretend everyone couldn't just play it on day 1 on PC lmao.
>>738179530TotK really just cements that the modern Zelda team as a collective entity does not know anything about game design.
