Not reallyIf I like a game I don't need to be told why. If I don't like a game I don't need to be told why or listen to why it's "actually good". If I am interested in a game and intend to play it I want to play it mostly blind.Then when you watch one anyway it's just a verbal playthrough with some commentaryI only particularly watch one if they're going over something specific, at which point I'm not sure if it's considered a video essay or just a video, or it's about a game that is interesting in a sense but not in a way that makes me want to play it, like I watched a video about how shit ass Spectral Tower is

I think Braid and the Witness share quality to their puzzles where the feel like their repsective mechanics are steadily ramped up in difficulty until they're taken to their natural limits. The final level of each Braid world is typically optional and usually a real fuckin brain teaser, and the last puzzles you'll see in The Witness using a specific mechanic are pretty damn tough.I love The Witness. I really think it's an incredibly designed puzzle game that justifies and reinforces its approach countless times in a playthrough. Also I think the audio log stuff has a fun element of non-required rumination that can be seen as a literary paralell to the otherwise silent and isolated puzzle solving
