Psikyo games are heavily memo focused though since the bullets get ridiculously fast. Safe spots, planned bomb use etc. Still, they are fun and I bet that man has all the memo but none of the reaction time anymore.

I'm playing batrider now, and that's a far more abstract kind of aids. I've never died in a psikyo game and not known exactly what I did wrong, they are extremely fair. You do need reaction time, but it's more like "okay this enemy is on the screen, time to tap left" instead of "okay this bullet is 10 pixels away from my face, time to tap left", which is good, it's useful to learn that mentality imo. Like for a psikyo pattern I find it's helpful to learn things like "I need to tap 4 times to get out of this diagonal lane", you need that level of awareness.
