i can't tell if i'm retarded or if this game sucksit's pretty obvious what the contradictions and logical connections are but the game connects them in a way that's not intuitive to me
>>738200310happened to me all the time in the mainline AA games but only a few times in Investigations, you might be retarded
There are a few leaps of logic. The logic makes sense but the jump from what the characters were talking about to what they want you to point out is a non-sequitur.The game also sucks. You'll find out when you get to the final case. Upon reflection this is by far the absolute worst of the entire series, because the storytelling is some Direct-To-DVD shit this time, and you go through that entire final case wondering "Am I supposed to care about any of this?" Then it ends and you realize other than some cute moments with Edgeworth, Kay and Gumshoe that tie back some earlier banter, the story itself is just plain shit in this game. The sequel is a lot better from an emotional perspective... but saying it's "the best in the series" or even "top 3" is asinine to me. Both Investigations are the beginning of what sucks so much about AA5 and AA6, where this other writing team have really bad taste in what they're doing with storytelling. They're great at writing puzzles and building up intrigue through promises of a "Trials & Tribulations" esque narrative... but they're extremely bad at tying all the early mysteries into a DL-6 type of incident unlike the main games or Great Ace Attorney. In those games the narrative truly builds upon itself. In these ones it's mystery for the sake of mystery, typically resolving in some type of blatant plot device, like "Oh my God, it all started because she found THE STONE OF DESTINY." or something.
>>738200703i felt like the mainline games so far were pretty intuitive.
>>738200310Just be patient with it.
>>738200776The thing about AAI, AAI2 or DD or SoJ is that there's really only ever 3 types of Cross Examinations>Point out the contradiction right away>Press to reveal the contradiction>Press all statements to continueAnd they, from what I recall, never ever diverge from these design patterns. So sometimes you might be overthinking it and you're actually just stuck because you have 1 statement left to press. The investigation portions can sometimes fuck you up because you have 3 different modes of gameplay, between Logic, Deduction and Finding Evidence/Talking to Characters. So sometimes it's like finding a needle in a haystack if there's 1 tiny detail you missed. For example, if you are prompted with Deduce in Investigation, you could be stuck because you're missing 1 Logic connection that would've updated the piece of evidence you need.
>>738200310it doesn't suck but like 3 of the cases are meh. Edgeworth carries the game hard, 2 fixes all the issues though just gotta get through 1. and for puzzles yeah some don't make sense
>>738200310I thought it will be bad, I'm not a huge fan of AA but I enjoyed this more than I expected, mogs the mainline
>>738200310This was the beginning of the end of the series. Shu Takumi had already left.
