when does it get good?im 20minutes in, and its just WORD WORDS WORDS cinematic garbage so far
Do you have ADD? Genuine question.
>>738200564Once you unlock all of the movement options, so another 3 hours, give or take an hour
>>738200564>just WORD WORDS WORDS cinematic garbageanon, it was a PlayStation exclusive
It's good as long as you start moving your character and you get goosebumps from the nostalgia
>>738200564It eventually gets good but it's still a soulless nuratchet game. Still infinitely times better than the demake
>>738200564About 2 hours. I hate to say this but I started this series here and it was just an average cinematic pixar style third person shooter. I went back and played the original collection, which gameplay wise is very difficult but the writing and characters are in a completely different league. genuinely some of the funniest games ever made, I will say bolt grinding sucks dick though especially in 1
>>738200564OP is a faggot, what a surprise.None of that is true, it's as "WORDS" as the PS2 games, if you really want no story then play pac-man or something, this game is too complex for you.
>>738200564>when does it get good?it doesn't. just get a refund before it's too late.
>>738200564This was my GOTY
WHAT A TRICK, ARE WE LOOKING AT THE NEXT SKID MCMARX HERE?
Whats the best Ratchet Ima play it on PS2 emulator tonight. Yeah Im black fuck you
>>738201958I had the same experience and my first game was A Crack in Time cause I was using a free trial of PSNow during the PS4 era. Gameplay was ok, music was lame, characters were lame and Clank is an asshole, and story was trying really hard to be epic. Then I bought a cheap PS3 and did Tools of Destruction, which was the same shit but I liked the gameplay a bit more, and then the original PS2 games which I loved all around. The first one may have been hard but I had the most fun playing that out of all of them, and at least the rest of the PS2 titles were just fun Saturday morning cartoon type plots, not trying to force some epic story where one wasn't needed.I didn't want to even touch Rift Apart cause I knew it'd just be everything wrong with the PS3 titles but even more braindead. They can't stop reusing Dr. Nefarious, it's like the designers seem to know every time they tried to write a new villain they suck ass and won't even try anymore.
>>738200564the old games were the same
>>738200564>platforms>good
Ratchet and clank hasn’t been good in over 16 years
>>738201958Old ratchet was made for teens and young adults. Nu-ratchet is written like it's for children and sensitive little cupcakes.
>>738205129>expect platforming>it's a rail shooter
>>738200564>LOMBAX TIDDIESLOMBAX TIDDIES>LOMBAX TIDDIESLOMBAX TIDDIES
>>738200564i dropped about an hour in so i couldn't tell you
>>738204360Going through the Old Insomniac Museums of the original trilogy, you could tell it was made by nerdy, goofy dudes for other nerdy goofy dudes. You could just feel the personality coming from these guys and how much fun they had making these games to just be games. Now? Like you said, it's as if everything HAS to have some grand narrative or deep character driven plots. Nigga, I just want to turn Aliens into atomic demon ducks. I don't care about Ratchet being the "Chosen One" or some other generic Hollywood bullshit trope.
>>738204360Nef was fine as a one off villain but he's been overused
The series peaked with the PS2 games, as far as I'm concerned the series ended with Deadlocked.
>>738205531It's funny they turned the PS3 plots into a dick measuring contest between Ratchet and Clank on who had the more special backstory that clearly wasn't a thing before:>I'm the chosen one, last of my race!>Well I'M the son of the god of time!>>738205548Yeah, it's just them retelling the same joke over and over again.
>>738205976I agree with you, brother Ratchet doesn't need a mainstay villain. The original games feel like a fun episodic series of "Who's the Weekend Badguy". Ratchet and Clank works best just being a game, not a movie. Besides, it really limits what crazy stuff you want to fully parody of you are just going to do the same villain for the third time in a row
>>738200564It doesn't. Jak and Daxter was much better.
