Zero
>>7382063966 by far. It's the reason the series had to completely change directions and then start pumping out remakes.
0, 1, CV are the only half decent reddit evil games. reddit evil fans act like 6 is shit when its the exact same shit as.every other.reddit evil game

>>7382063960 is unplayable
0 is good though.
>>738206396The reality isn't that 6 is bad. It's that it's simply completely different from survival horror. The action-arcade experience is front and center, chapter/score/points based reward system, over the top tone and variety, it's RE4 and 5 on steroids. It released in a time when people were getting tired of these games because everyone was making them.RE7 did a great job course correcting an action horror franchise back into small scope horror, but it copied a lot of designs from the original game in very blatant ways. Because most people have never played the original RE they thought RE7 was the freshest and bestest survival horror game evarrrr, until RE2 remake once again just copied PS1 game design and suddenly they "made a masterpiece".But just look at Requiem. RE9 looks and plays more like RE6 than any other title since, Leon literally has environmental finishers and weapon throw finishers as well as quickshot finishers. The action combat that everyone is praising in RE4R/RE9 is basically a slower and less dynamic version of what you do in RE6, but yet RE6 is condemned for QTEs and setpieces
>>738206396That's like asking which shit is stinkier.
>>738207683It is bad as an action game. There's a reason people only jerk off Mercenaries, the actual campaign is trash.
>>7382063966, so hard it's not even a contest.
>>738206396Given 0 is genuinely good, 6.
Why does 0 make zoomers seethe so badly?
>>738207839Chris campaign is actually goodAda Wong campaign is good tooIt's only Leon campaign that feels so shitty and it's because the scenario suffers from a complete lack of context and the enemy variety doesn't enable you to engage in the movement mechanics. By the time you're playing Chris' campaign, the game is clicking. Jake campaign is up and down but the game finishes strong with Ada Wong. It's the most obvious 7/10 game ever made

2, 3, 7, 8, and 9 are the worst RE games
>738208093>being a retarded brownoid
0. and 5 is worse than both.
>>7382063960's gimmicks didn't help it stand out, and it's largely just a worse RE1. RE6 has a great control scheme, but the game isn't really designed around it, and most of the enemies are pretty terrible.I think 0 is the better game overall, but 6 is more interesting and ambitious.
>>738208027zoomers don't play resi games they just regurgitate terrible opinions from youtube transsexualsonce you realize this is why 0 gets so much hate it all makes sense
>>738210075I'm sorry your opinion is too logical and correct I am going to have to ask you to leave the thread
>>738207683>>738208090>The reality isn't that 6 is bad.I'm getting tired of contrarians here trying to change the narrative that RE6 was always a good game simply because it sold well. Bad/mid games sell well all the fucking time, Pokémon immediately comes to mind. It's a game that tries to do too much all at once and this leads to shortcuts having to be taken. 6 may have fun gunplay (constantly tripping everywhere aside), but this is offset by terrible linear corridor level design and abysmal enemy variety. You may fight new enemies in each of the 4 campaigns, but they're the same small handful throughout that entire campaign which for such a combat heavy game is a death sentence. On top of all the excessive QTEs there's retarded gimmick levels like getting chased by the helicopter or vehicular driving stages with cars, motorcycles and snowmobiles. A good game is about more than its combat system, level design, pacing and enemy variety needs to be good as well. You can have good linear level design like RE4 where you hardly notice it, but RE6 is on the same level as other "classics" from the same time period like FF13 and Hitman Absolution. At least Absolution actually tries with the levels that aren't just purely stealth focused "go from point A to point B in an almost straight line" like The King of Chinatown. But just like Absolution it also goes full retard with the story which wouldn't be a problem for either if they didn't try to make the story such a big focus compared to previous entries.Btw, the issue is also that RE6 didn't sell well enough for its budget at the time. If it did, RE7 would've been very different than what we got and no amount of revisionism will change that. It's a 4/10 game, maybe a 5 if being generous.
0 could've been a classic with a few changes. In fact, it's actually fucking pathetic how bad it is considering how much it's got going for it.
>>738210545This was the only time this aids ridden guy was right. 0 had the potential to be the best classical RE game and tell a good prequel story about Bravo team. However, it is filled with controversial game design choices like the absence of item boxes and has a mediocre story
Are there any recommended mods for 6?It's the only one in the series that I dropped twice for some reason.
>>738208090The Leon campaign has some really bad pacing. I almost dropped the game because of how boring it was. Chris' was non stop fun
>>738214880Resident Evil 6 Fusion Fix if you're going to play split screen on PC, or have an ultrawide screen.
>>738206396RE7
>>738208090Chris and Jake campaigns were legitimately good. Its the Leon campaign that really weak and that was the thing that the game was trying to sell itself on.
>>738207683>The reality isn't that 6 is bad. It's that it's simply completely different from survival horror. No. It's completely different from survival horror *AND* it's bad. I can appreciate games for what they are even when they shit on a series' legacy. If RE6 was a competent bro-op shooter I could say it was good but not really RE. If it was a competent arcade style action game I'd say it's good but not classic RE. If it was a competent cinematic action game... etc. etc. You get the point. It's trying and failing to do things it has no business doing. And it's the FAILING part that galls, not the fact they tried. The game mechanics don't work properly as a bro-op, it's bad at it, the cinematics are constantly knocking you out of the action, it's bad at it, the shooter elements are frustrating and inconsistent and resources are tighter than they have any right to be so the only strategy that works is head shot -> melee combos over and over and over and over and over...Yes, autists played RE4 like that too, you didn't have to. RE6 makes it a requirement on any difficulty other than rookie. And it's bad. The bosses need a 2P to get behind them to do damage meanwhile the player pulling agro is constantly getting knocked out of the action forcing 2P to come rescue them. The fix for that is to exploit the mechanics again. It's bad.
>>738206396>Which one's worse?RE6 by a long shot. Not because it's a shitty CoD knock-off, but because it strips away the RE identity, it anything but an RE game. With RE0, yeah sure it's pretty shit but at the very least that core RE identity is still in tact. With that said, I don't know how it happened but RE6 looked worse than RE5 despite the 4 year gap between their launches.
>>738214846>it is filled with controversial game design choices like (2 things that arent big deals but became wildly exaggerated through internet repetition)>and mediocre story (in games where all stories are shit and dont matter)
>>738215189It doesn't exactly fix the game, but you get passives to get more ammo drops for a certain gun, and putting even one of those on means you're absolutely swimming in bullets. The game goes from not giving you enough ammo to even shoot to having more than you could ever use.
>>738206396you take their names OUT of your MOUTH
>>7382063966, but 0's no saint either. At least both are better than 5.
>>738216671The story actually matters a lot in RE0 since it's a prequel that directly expands on the lore behind Umbrella and the events leading up to CV which is the only part of RE that anyone actually cares about when it comes to the story. It does an incredibly poor job of explaining why Rebecca is still alive by the time Chris finds her in RE1 or why she goes back to the mansion despite not having a gun in RE1 since she's supposed to be just a field medic. There's also not really any reason for Rebecca to discover Umbrella's underground lab before Leon & Claire do in RE2 or having to fight the exact same prototype Tyrant you do in RE1.

>>738220925RE6 Sherry mogs. Let alone Ada Wong and Helena
>>738207683becuase it's not the character control that people complain about in 6, it's the massive spectacle like fighting simmons on top of a train while he grows bigger and bigger and half of a whole city in china getting zombifiedin RE9 you get the slow Grace sections and the action Leon sections, but even the Leon segments in 9 don't compare to the spectacle in 6.

>>738206396Zero at least has the train segment, which is great. RE6 has literally nothing.
6 is better than 4 and only herd animal brain bitch fools disagree
>>7382063960 was my first RE game so my opinion might be skewed. It didn't turn me away from the series, though. I expect 6 would have turned me away, so 6 is probably worse.
>>738221923Zoom zoom
>>738221302You just have low standards. Most gamers don't really understand how to critique games properly beyond I had le fun and they equate that to a game being a 10/10 flawless masterpiece every single time it's incredibly shallow. I had fun watching Troll 2 but that doesn't make it a good movie. A game basically has to be literally unplayable for a gamer to even begin to consider giving a score lower than 7 because 6 and below = bad even though that's not how a scoring scale from 1-10 is supposed to work at all. Also explains why Metacritic's Must Play games starts at a score of 90+ whereas Must Watch movies are 80+ and how there are more 90+ games from the past three decades than 90+ movies of any decade of any genre despite cinema being literally decades older. Gamers don't know how to rate things properly, access journalists or not.
>>738223979>t.zoomer that only found out RE existed with 7 and now likes to pretend to be an oldfag0 is antithetical to everything that made RE1(have you ever even played it?) good. Nobody but contrarians that love pretending to be oldfags like 0.
Zero sucks dude. The enemies are wack and RE doesn't work on a train.
>>738213101Enemy variety is not the complaint I'd pick for 6, seeing as it has the highest enemy variety still of any game in the series. Especially when 7 is notorious for having 3 enemies.
>>738206396Five
>>738214880Nude Helena + Nude Ada
>>738220925This. It was fun playing as Rebecca
From what I’ve seen of 0, it’s just horrendously designed, even if it functions decently as a classic Resident Evil game. Resident Evil 6 on the other hand just sucks, plain and simple. It’s like one of those over-the-top Japanese rail shooters you played in the arcades
>>73820639660 has problems, one very serious one, but there's still a solid foundation there6 is an abomination
>0 is bad because muh item boxesdumbass niggas. Even with item boxes, you're going to autistically bring all the items to one spot anyways.>muh minor inconveniencePlace them in better spots so they're easy to identify and grab. Literal skill issue
>>738225523the biggest issue is the lack of storage box. most of the other problems stem from thatI think I understand the situation they were trying to solveparticularly, the dumb waiter mechanic and the sections surrounding itthey were afraid that if they had the storage box, then one character could just put the item they found in that and then the other could magically grab itthe solution, of course, is to remove the storage box from just one side of the separation areas so only one character has access to itthen you would still need to use the dumb waiter and the sections would work fine
They're both shit for opposite reasons. 0 basically becomes "Nothing Happens: The Game" after the train and Rebecca and Billy just spend the rest of the game bumbling around until Marcus decides "alright time to be a boss fight." Meanwhile 6 is a schizophrenic ADHD clusterfuck desperately trying to be a big summer blockbuster and can't go 5 seconds without something exploding.
>>738225021It has the highest number of enemies, but not the largest amount of variety. I think RE4/RE5 still takes the cake there. What I mean by this is that Chris and Jake's campaigns share a lot of the same enemies as they're the more action focused campaigns so j'avos vs zombies, Leon and Ada's share a lot of the same enemies being the more horror focused and in all 4 campaigns you fight the same 4-5 different types of enemies through most of them. A lot of enemies are one-offs and bosses like the shark in the underground cathedral in Leon chapter 3 or the giant snake in Chris chapter 3, they're enemies that are unique to one tiny area of the game, but you still fight the same 3-4 types of j'avos and zombies all throughout. This wouldn't be so bad if the campaigns weren't so lengthy even separately. RE7 by comparison is a short game that can be finished in under 5 hours, usually between 7-9 hours for first time players.Another example is RE1 that has the lowest variety of enemies of all the classics because it counts unique enemies specific to one or two small areas within a much larger map that are barely a threat like the wasps and the sharks and the baby spiders that you usually kill through means other than with your guns or just avoid entirely so it's mainly just zombies/zombie dogs for the first half and then hunters for the second half, but it's not a big deal because it's a 2-3 hour long game that can easily be finished in under 4 by first time players. REmake fixes this issue by adding Crimson Heads and making chimeras encountered throughout the whole underground laboratory instead of just the engine room like in the OG and putting in 1-2 more areas for the crows on top of the 2 from OG and Lisa Trevor is encountered at least 3-4 times throughout not just once or twice. It may not sound like it makes a big difference on paper but it really does during gameplay especially if you don't take big breaks inbetween sessions.
