Has this ever been proven wrong?

Can't and won't prove this wrong. Most humans are self centered in all aspects so hard that even empathy itself is not a standard issue. Something like controlling a character from 3rd person perspective isn't by any means what we were made to do especially when in real world commanding a person in front of you means talking to said person instead of being tied to a mechanical representation of said person.
Devs themselves failing to comprehend that their product should follow natural instincts is proof enough they themselves are retards and the only good perspective for games that are supposed to be taken seriously is FPP.

Well, at least you have something to be proud of, despite being unemployed
>>
Yes because toddlers were playing this in 1996 so it cant be high IQ
>>
>>738207051
Yes, and by the devs who abandoned it since it was a limitation that they had before but not anymore.

I don't know but I witnessed my gf try to play REmake and it's was like watching a toddler trying to tie their shoelaces.
How the fuck is it so hard to understand that up is forward relative to the character?

its not a high iq thing, its just a low iq filter

man those angles are really not flattering
>>
>>738208286
The movement was never this clunky. I can guarantee retards though who didn't grow up with the games will think it was exactly like this.

is there anything more midwit than saying
>oh you have 100 IQ?
>that means half the population is smarter than you
>and half is dumber than you!

nigger that leaves zero people left to have the single most common IQ
>>
>can't strafe
Outdated boomer movement scheme only held onto by zoomers pretending to be le oldfags.

This is like watching one of those videos of an animal at the zoo with a child's puzzle that has a treat inside, but the animal is literally too stupid to figure it out.

Never understood the hate for tank controls. It takes like five minutes of practice to master.
>>
>>738209325
I think it's the camera angles that are causing trouble for people. I know a person who beat RE4 and yet can't wrap his mind around fixed camera angle REs controls.
>>
>>738209325
There wasn't any hate at the time because it was part of the slow, deliberate experience of Resident Evil. The only thing that ever pissed me off as a kid when playing it was the lack of a quick turn in RE2, because some of the boss fights, mostly against Birkin, would just be shitty because you need five years to turn 180 to try to run.

And tank controls had a fairly short shelf life and were only a thing between 1996 and 2000, since they basically died with RECV and only had a brief return to life in the RE1 remake.

Honestly, RE4's movement limitations annoyed me way more than tank controls ever did.

Yeah it's funny seeing anyone try to read anything into tank controls when they were 100% a result of the CD-ROM era, where devs had very little RAM and very little CPU to work with but were blessed with hundreds of megabytes of low-bandwidth storage

So the answer of course was just to make a bunch of beautiful elaborate JPEGs and find a way for low poly characters to wander around them
In retrospect I do appreciate it, it reminds me of matte paintings in movies

I have less fondness for FMVs, three minute cutscenes that look like they're out of fucking Beast Wars or Reboot but were jaw dropping at the time

you do realize women are not as good at spatial reasoning as men are, right? or are you one of those retards that subscribes to the idea that we are all identical?
>>

>It takes like five minutes
It took me a couple of minutes to understand the controls of RE1, as a 7 year old child.

Yeah, I hear you. The quick turn and enemy lock on made the gameplay much more enjoyable.

>I have less fondness for FMVs
It's certainly primitive by today's standards, but I could watch those OG RE2 and RE3 CGI cutscenes any day.

>>738210294
I know one of the later versions of OG RE2 had an auto lock (Maybe the Dual Shock version?), but it was never really that big a deal except for the few times you'd deal with fast moving lickers in the game.
