How come there's barely any games like this one
>>
It's crazy, isn't it.
I can only replay this and Symphony of War so many times.

Maybe UO inspires some copycats.
>>
because it doesn't fit a template
it's not an over the shoulder adventure
not an extraction shooter
not a 2deep4u gay chronicle
so the frauds can't easily replicate

there are plenty of auto battle games out there

Great games can't be shitted out like the last of us. You should smile we even got this game. Movies, comic books and TV are completely creatively dead while vidya and anime/manga still produce good things.
>>
i mean it's just ogre battle...
you should give grand kingdom a try (and then grand knights history if enjoyed it)
i love map painting jrpgs
>>
Ogre Battle came out in 1993, by the way. If you'd bought it then, the genre would be more popular.

The only switch games I boughted to support the devs to only to proceed to play on an emulator.

Games like that are passion projects. They almost always bankrupts the developers.

Legion Bound is an indie game with shitty graphics that plays similar I suppose. Released on April 27. I had fun for 8 bucks.

But thanks for the recommendation.

I like a lot of what vanilla does, but this has got to be one of the most braindead """tactical""" rpgs ever.

It looks like its aimed at the core gamer but it plays like its aimed toilet gamers.
The constant shilling confuses me with how easy and simple the game is

Just play Ogre battle/Ogrebattle 64. There’s no romance in those games though

if you'll recommend an indie game, it should have been symphony of war.

Funny, I did the same

Sadly Symphony of War is even easier than UO, hopefully the strategy in the second game is more than just throwing the tankiest unit you have into the middle of 20 units and having them counter everything to death.
>>
>>738214264
Meh I get why it's shilled it's relatively unique in the strategy genre, the other recommendations you get are from Ogre Battle which people have probably played and is incredibly dated. I wish we got DLC or some ripoffs. Combat is really decided in unit combinations and how you've built a squad compared to the usual stuff which just tries to ape off of FFT.

Because despite being brain dead easy, it's still largely a good system.
It's one of those games that is liked by players that's in it for the journey and not the artificial in game achievement. And that journey is hundreds of hours theocrafting in the menu.
