One sad thing about boruto being a thing, is that there will never be a new naruto game again. the naruto MMO everyone has always wanted where you choose your clan and village and learn different jutsu and all will never happen now because boruto is the new thing and they're gonna abandon all the old media in favor of boruto which is just plain shit.

It was never going to happen anyway because MMOs have been dead for 15 years, the smartphone killed them. Directly and outright. Mobile games make more money for less investment. Naruto online, the chinese gacha, is consistently in the top 10, and typically in the top 5 grossing, worldwide, despite only serving china. They're not even making new games, they're shitting out DLC for shinobi strikers and the mobile games, and the dlc for shinobi strikers is now stretching back to original series naruto because boruto is so unmemorable and uninteresting to players that the kawaki and momoshiki mentor DLCs are the worst selling that the game had. More people wanted tenten and kimimaro.

There's something really unappealing about Boruto and I can't figure out why. Whole fandom just ignores it. I don't think even Dragon Ball GT gets it this bad even though that has more obvious problems on the surface.
