Compare to what Nintendo did, they stopped doing early Directs for journos since 2019. Their reasoning for not including Rocket Town is probably that they want to reduce asset reuse for part 3, which doesn't have that many areas left to visit. Now Rocket Town will be the first visit instead of a brief trip to the rocket.
