It's definitely possible that you just don't like fighting or whatever in Shadow of Mordor and that's not going to change. This game's campaign is mostly a tutorial where each mission gives you a new move and expects you to use it. If you feel like you can't do very much, playing just the main missions can help with that.

Shadow of War is better.

The game doesn't really start until you get out of Minas Morgul and can start recruiting your own orcs. Think it takes three hours or so.

This game is basically just an Orc murdering simulator. The best part is the Nemesis system, which I don't think you've properly unlocked at only one hour in. It's a lot of fun (provided you're a little autistic) to fuck around with the Orc captains. I like repeatedly killing them so they become hideously deformed (assuming they don't just die, I can't remember if there are ways to make it more likely for them to survive being 'killed').
Shadow of War is better in every way except for the long tutorial section.

I play it and SoW few years ago and liked them, very repetitive especially SoM but it's alright
