I recently tried wow and I was baffled that you have to pay to play this game and on top of that they have an ingame store charging you for extra mounts.
I looked in to it and apparently it started with this model in 2008, nearly 20 years ago, and people still see no issue with this shit? Let alone that this mount looks like it would've been dropped by a boss in Ulduar but was turned in to a store mount to generate extra money?

How the fuck do people not see how fucking despicable and evil this is?
>>
>microtransactions in a live service buy to play game
it's fine as long as they keep delivering content
>microtransactions in a live service buy to play game with MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTIONS
genuinely unfathomable
>>
Blizzdrones eat everything Blizzard shits on the plate so this is nothing new under the sun
>>
Over the years Blizzard cultivated a playerbase of normie redditors that justify every purchase with "well, my funkopop and fishing gear is more expensive than this digital mount, so it is actually okay and cheap!"

Blizzard recently put a gay pride parade in the game, the same patch that broke a bunch of other shit, and WoW players don't even care. They're just like "yeah okay, cool" and they keep playing regardless. It genuinely doesn't matter anymore what happens to WoW, they will keep playing it.

the (now middle-aged) people playing this game don't have anything else they spend their time/money on. WoW (and gaming in general outside of whaling on gacha) is a cheap hobby compared to just about anything else.
>>
>people still see no issue with this shit?
No, plenty of people have seen plenty of issue with that shit
Evil's being hyperbolic but its certainly Jewish and grubby

Anon more than 10 million customers left because of this shit. Microsoft Activision Blizzard doesn't give a fuck. They could make hundreds of millions per month just making a good game but they adamantly refuse.
>>
Selling a game that requires a monthly subscription to play should be illegal

these cosmetics are mostly made for chinks
warcraft is fucking huge there, same with hearthstone

you don't need a monthly sub to play WoW, there's free privates or you can setup your own
>>
Unless you suffer from FOMO it's s non issue. Especially in WoW where these items are hidden in a shop window. If stuff like that is in game but then a "pay now" window pops up it's scummy but if you put it somewhere where you have to actively go I don't see the issue.

If only the sub was worth it. You would think that a sub would go into keeping the server quality high, but instead you get people botting, buying gold, doing real life business in game, 8-12 hours maintenance one day every week, while the quality of the content is shit and very focused on the tmogs mounts and cheevos trannies because these are the ones who throw the most money at blizzard.

>make live service game
>everyone buys it
>you now have to hope the game dies before you run out of money running and updating all this shit constantly
The incentive is now for you to make the game as shitty as possible so you don't lose more money.

Hell, the example can be used for any game that got hyped up, bought by millions and still infested with bugs.
Of course devs like DayZ have zero reasons to work on the game if they already raked in 90% of the possible profits for the game. So it remains in early access for eternity.

>and people still see no issue with this shit?
No, the game is clearly dying
>I recently tried wow
You are part of the reason why it's not as dead as it deserves to be

Millennials are so raped by blizzard.
