Why don't I have the attention span to play video games for more than 30 minutes at a time? I'm 35 years old too, so I'm not even that young. How do I fix this?
>>
give yourself a gaming detox
play something new
take drugs
>>
Remove all apps from your phone and only use it for making calls
>>
You give up, you were never interested in video games, just bored.
Embrace normiedom, since you are already one of them.

You'll talking with a porn addict, don't bother.

I'm 36. Personally my hands/wrists just can't take it anymore due to RSI. If I dare go past 30 minutes I will be in excruciating pain for the rest of the day and likely the next one as well.

No idea, I'm 36 and I just struggle with the initial notion of not wanting to/unsure what to play for days, just to eventually pick something and play it for 8-20 hours straight.

>Why don't I have the attention span
you have it and you are just finding excuses
>How do I fix this?
remove distractions
high protein low carbs diet
hydratation (only fresh still water no alc no soda)
read a book
regular exercise
stop thinking about irl stuff for a moment or do something productive and use gaming as a reward
make a schedule, at time XX you will play a video game, do it as a routine

Because I'm bored of sitting inside all day by myself playing video games but I can't seem to find any of these "third spaces" that are apparently making a comeback, nor any "friends" that aren't just a bunch of immature, gossipy teenagers.

This as well for me, but i can usually manage 1-2 hours before it gets too bad. I miss being able to play something for an entire day straight and not even think about it.

My attention span is fine, but after 20-30 minutes I get this nagging feeling in my gut. I guess it's boredom or something, but there's this huge impulse telling me "this sucks go do something else" and if I want to keep playing I have to fight it and the whole experience feels super stale and dull.
I wish I could just relax and immersive myself into games like I did when I was a kid.

Play on a handheld.

Check your posture. Poor posture really hurts cognitive capacity, including attention span.

Weed, no joke, smoke some cannabis, it makes it so easy to immerse yourself in a game

I'm the same.
I still very much like games and getting immersed, but this feeling is a deliberate jewish plot to make you miserable

Social media, twitter, shorts, some of these things are making us want new info faster and faster and it ruins your attention span. Some people say detox.
I recently put down my games and played an older, slower game- guild wars 1. I played that, I read a book, I went outside for like a week. Slowing down your brain and getting away from short attention span stuff helps your brain rebuild into having a longer attention span.

It can also just be health related too. If im under stress or anxiety about other stuff in life its hard to focus on games. Even paradoxically as you may be trying to play to relax.

Stop treating your "backlog" as a job.
Play fun games.
Stop buying new games.

It wouldn't hurt to sit down and thing about what games you like, what games you didn't like, and why that is - or what the games you like have in common. Just playing the stuff you like can be more enjoyable than trying to force yourself thru every game just because you have them, because they were on sale, or because they were the most popular game for a month during some year. Not every person has to like every game, and the most common games are frequently the most boring ones as a result.

Also, as somebody else said, get off social media and turn off the internet at times. That shit is cancer (in several meanings) and just shutting it all off is frequently good at letting you relax and worry about other things.

The nagging feeling is the guilt of not doing something productive. I only play games on Weekends now to avoid that feeling, but even then, I don't play for very long.
