Why make it so hard for him? He says he's soooo busy anyway. I could finish my (visual coding) RPG engine and post it on itch so he has no excuse to not finish his project (I could make it handle platformers but it really doesn't fit with what I'm making right now).I don't think he will beat your game even if I were to hand him all the handicaps. If his game wins out I'll fucking port my runtime to Löve2D so he can release his game for real. That's how little faith I have in his project.
