>play on release
>it's dogshit
>play in current year when everyone says it is a masterpiece after being fixed
>load my old save (before meeting Keanu reeves stealth story mission with your buddy)
>enemies act like donkeys, don't notice you when you're obviously right next to them, even after spotting you they act retarded and you can just melee slap them
What am I missing?
>>
>>738248856
No idea, maybe start a fresh save? I played it after Phantom Liberty released and it's the best game I've ever played, and I've played vidya since the Atari 2600
>>
>>738248959
Could you elaborate on what made it so? As far as I checked out the updates, it fixed up some of the most glaring issues but there's still nothing to do in the open world, the intros don't matter, the story wasn't changed at all
>>
>>738248959
>best game I've ever played

Sorry to hear. Do you just play very little vidya or what's your problem.
>>

start a new game
>>
This is the most generic hunk of shit I have ever played. Such an empty, lifeless world and boring as shit game play. It feels like a game that was never fully realized
>>
>>738248856
Nothing, the game is still dogshit. They fixed skilltree in 2.0 and thats it.
The DLC is actually good though but base game is still ass.
>>
>>738248856
you're supposed to like it now because the anime was popular and they fixed the bugs which weren't the actual problem
>>
>>738249645
>but there's still nothing to do in the open world, the intros don't matter, the story wasn't changed at all
yep, you got played. game is flawed at it's core it can never be fixed unless they pretty much remake the game again
>>
>>738249869
The DLC is good because of the story or the alternative map is actually alive?
>>
>>738249645
>the story wasn't changed at all
Didn't need to be changed, it's great.

I still find it funny how people were expecting a full life sim with ALL the table top rules and an AI Gamemaster that does everything and makes new assest on the spot and not CDPR putting their rpg formula in a GTA

The DLC is more of them same but with nigris elba

To move the thread into a more productive direction, any other immersive story games that you would say are better?
>>

Some would say Deus Ex, but speaking as a life long fan of high tech and low life... Don't ever touch those games. My vote goes to Observer Redux.

why is every cyberpunk thread filled with polish shills shilling their shitty polish walking sims

Oh damn, I actually started Observer back in the day but didn't really stick with it. I'll gladly give it a second shot.

Witcher 3, Fallout 3 & New Vegas, Bioshock, Prey 2017, Dishonored, Deus Ex Human Revolution and the sequel, Oblivion, Skyrim

Oh the cyberpunk thread. I didn't bother driving during the dlc dog town area while I was there. it felt more immersive being the new guy in town trying to keep a low profile as a secret agent just walking around the place in dusty gear. One of the greatest dlc I ever played.
>>
I always get bored a few hours in whenever starting a new save.
My issue is the pathetic enemy variety, it's just fucking humans in different clothing FOREVER with the rare robot/drone.
Everytime I play I'm wishing it was more like Shadowrun setting wise...
>>
>>738251407
Anyone who's not a moron knows to progress the story of an RPG a couple chapters so eveeything opens up before trying to do all the side stuff
>>
>>738251553
I can't help it.
Grinding the police missions for XP is too addicting.
Does progressing the story actually improve enemy variety, and how? More machines I suppose?

It actually got worse after the updates, hacking especially.

>Best pussy I ever ate - (reddit sóylverhand)
How do you fuck up the writing for such an easy to write character?
It's like a girl saying she sucked the best cock ever
Sure, maybe the biggest, thickest, juiciest, but not best
Also, he's an asshole that wouldn't get satisfaction out of pleasuring another person. A guy like him would boast about the the best head he got, the biggest load he busted, or the tightest pussy he fucked.
not the "best" pussy he ate (like a sóyboy)
>>
>>738250886
Redux definitely fixed a lot of the visuals issues. The original version made me nauseous. If nothing else, it's worth wasting a few hours on. Reminded me of movies like One Point O, Split Second, and Hardware(w/ Iggy pop)

no it doesnt, all enemies have essentialyl the same moves, like sandevistan sprint up to you and hit you with sword or shoot at you, some bosses in the dlc have some more variety like the russian side quest boss is one I can think of, but thats in the dlc, compared to the base game its not that much better
>>
>>738251609
Foist of all, as the story progresses more areas open up, and different areas have different enemies
>>
>>738251324
because thats the whole appeal of the dlc, its a spy political thriller, so it makes sense youd wanna play it like that, its a shame that ones tyoure done with the dlc youd have to go back to playing the shitty base game if you want more, its too bad that you have to rely on a dlc to actually enjoy the game,

> its an RPG so youre supposed to make choices that impact the story, problem is it doesnt
> bosses are lame as shit to fight, its the same problem the witcher 3 had where the bosses in the base game are pretty lackluster while the dlc are better and had more variety in their attacks
> for being an open world game the world is pretty boring to explore, because theres not much to find, but thats a common issue with open world games, the city is big and well designed but it feels empty because every npc looks and acts the same, the noly places that actually matter are the ones related to a side quest or the main story

I love following Idris Elba hearing his endless yapping and nobody ever says what's really good about the dlc. The choice you'll have to make is literally spelled out for you repeteadly during the mission and they tell you clearly songbird is a liar and nignog is a loyal glowie.
The new skilltre is very small and they give you skill points for free. Dogtown has nothing new or interesting. Enemies are the same generic thugs you've seen for hours. The dlc is literally the same mid shit as the main game.

No fucking lie, all this game did was make me wish it was deus ex, so i replayed the og, HR(original, get fucked faggots who didnt snag it before being delisted) and 1/3rd of MD.

Fuck, Elden Ring just made me do something similar and replayed DS2 and first time BB

Shame because Cyber has moments that shine, some shockingly good world building(far and few between) and, at a standstill, fucking gorgeous. Its so fucking lifeless though. Its like a half assed GTA4/5, while giving the illusion its fully realized. The juxtaposition is nonstop.

You literally have to start a new save since the 2.0 update, if you use old saves everything is fucked.

That said, it's not a masterpiece, but it's not the disaster it was. The driving is actually pretty amusing for an open world shit game.
>>
>>738251173
>>738252491
Bioshock is perma fucked, the 1000/10 audio is impossible to fix, only the 360 version with a surround sound set up, or playing it on a proper rig at its release time+windows xp can showcase it. If any anons know what im talking about, you know how fucking amazing it is.

Its broken beyond repair now, its too hardware coded, cant emulate it like Theif/SS2 audio

I hoped for level based notDeus Ex with the tabletop classes, maybe with Netrunner as an exception, letting you do the entire game from your apartment/hideout.
>>
>>738250129
Both. The story is actually about you, Johnny Prick is played right, only appearing to complement the story, not to steal it, and it actually has branching paths and decision making. Side missions are also good though it doesnt have a lot of enemy variety just like the original.
The DLC really highlights how awful the original game is because they ARE capable of making good story, interesting map and contents when they want to. They just chose to rush it for the release.
>>
>>738249645

explain how the DLC map is better than the base game without sounding like a retard
they suffer from the same shortcomings, it's just your personal opinion that you like one over the other
and the DLC has the same amount of branching paths as the base game
>>
>>738248856
>What am I missing?
Nothing. CDPR and Cyber Punk were too big to fail, so it got sucked off by literally everyone, despite it being mediocre and a betrayal of the actual Cyber Punk RPG.
>>
>>738248856
1.8 was the best the game was, 2.0 just cucked skill trees to nothing. 2.0 Edgerunner retards ate it up and don't know the fun bullshit you could do with the old skill tree system. You also got cucked on items and shops since different ripperdocs had unique equipment for each of them.

>>
>>738249645
>all overworld quests got removed after release
Is there precedent for a game company removing content after release? Isn’t that considered illegal? They basically gutted most of the game. Is there any way we can get the old CP2077 back that has all the side missions?
>>
>>738248856
you're not the target audience. if you were, you would have liked the game on release. it was just as great, if a technical mess.
>>
>>738256383
If your hacking was good enough with the right cyberdeck you could delete an entire building of enemies with the right hacks.
Using the Cold Blood and Pistol skill trees you could take a common revolver and delete enemies with absurd crit headshots
Stealth was actual stealth not percentage of less detection so you could do some cool infiltrations. You could turn your V into an insane merc that logically explains why you were able to beat the shit out of Smasher.

>explain how the DLC map is better than the base game without sounding like a retard
They added collectables that power you up so the map is worth exploring
Battle royale drop pods really adds to the dynamic of exploring and gameplay
Random missions that pop out such as stealing a car bring this game to a genre and also adds a lot of roleplay for you as a criminal/punk
Central hub of operation, as well as shops that sell missed uniques is a great additon.
Verticality is better than in base game
Overall its an improvement from basemap because at least it feels like cyberpunk unlike just GTA Miami that we got. Its not a high bar to beat.
>and the DLC has the same amount of branching paths as the base game
No, its not. Base game has ZERO branching paths. There we at least got two (Help song or help the cop) that lead to EXCLUSIVE mission sequences.
In the base game you can only choose an ending. No paths what so ever. Again, not a high bar to beat.

>>
>>738264892

>>
>>738248856
Nothing really. I played a cracked copy on release and finished the entire main story of 1.0.
I replayed it with PL and mods years later and I didn't notice much of a difference. It was never very buggy or had that shit performace for me in the original game.

I still have all the same complaints.
>Story and Johnny are the only good thing about the game
>Driving is fun but not enough car or racing content
>Shooting mechanics are ok considering it's their first shooter
>Terrible RPG mechanics
>Terrible life sim elements
>Devs still completely lied about what was going to be in the game

The only thing I really noticed is they removed static levels and added level Scaling. While this covered up their failure to make proper leveled zones, and their failure as RPG devs. This also made progression significantly more boring and less rewarding.
>>
>>738248959
it's a fucking looter shooter in a lifeless city
>>
>>738248856
I played on release and enjoyed it for what it was but I can't imagine the updates dramatically changed the game enough to make it a masterpiece unless they made choices actually matter for more than a handful of things.
>>
>>738270654
No, and they made the skills worse. Its largely passive slight buffs instead of turning into a fucking menace when you specialize into a tree.
>>
>>738256032
