Ok but like why the hell do bandits outnumber the population of normal, law abiding citizens 10:1?
>>738257132Me on the left but with the armour and weaponry of the one on the right
Its like that in real life. Africa and India hold most of the global population.
>>738257132Because it is a video game.
>>738257917When did u transition?
>>738257132What was Skyrim's tax policy that led to so many having to live criminal lives just to survive?
>>738257132For the same reason you can scale a mountain in five minutes - it's an abstraction for the sake of gameplay and technical limitations. The Skyrim you see in the game is not a 1:1 replica of the Skyrim in the lore.>>738258908The reason the bandit population exploded is due to the civil war.
>>738258908It's the taxation from the Imperial (American) occupation to help fund the Altmer (jewish) interests.
>>738257132and for some reason women are always interested in violence and doing harm to other people without any regard for themselves
>>738257132>village has 4 homes and a total of 6 people >go down the road 50 feet outside of village and there's a total of 12 bandits split between groups of 1-3 in all directionswhy don't they just overrun the village and take their homes?
>>738257132If you count the guards in each hold, including the ones in each prison and the jarl’s main headquarters…the bandits still outnumber them but now its 8:1. And every TES game is like this. You would think the series could be classified as post apocalyptic. Nearly every cave or ruin is infested with bandits, wizards, vampires. Oh and thats not counting the giants and wildlife thats all inspired by pleistocene megafauna.
>>738260337hey you're not supposed to spend so much time in towns that you notice the capital city is like 30 people and 20 guards. You're supposed to be taking Radiant Quests(TM) to go clear the cave of bandits.
>>738257917ywnbaw
because the game is casualized garbage
I like all the really silly shit like there's a faction with an entire army worth of people called the Silver Hand and why do they exist? To fight werewolves. There can't be that many werewolves but there's a whole battalion of dudes all over Skyrim living in abandoned caves and forts to fight the 10 werewolves that may or may not exist in the single building comprising the Companions faction where like 4 guys are werewolves.
>>738259589It’s a conspiracy. The Stormcloaks and Imperials have paid agitators in each other’s territories. They pose as bandits but are actually brownshirts. They want to make it seem to the citizenry that living under the opposition’s rule leads to lawlessness but they don’t actually want to kill off their potential subjects.
>>738257132It's a video game, Bethesda make video games.immersive(gay) sim, not heavy RPGs, and not interactive movies. They are making the same video game over and over from the start.
>>738261668that's a deeper explanation than I thought
hard times have fallen upon the land, you don't make stories about peaceful times, you make it about the hundred years war when brigands are roaming the countryside
>>738260337any medieval setting should count as post-apocalyptic, since the medieval era was the aftermath of the apocalypse
>>738260337To play devil's advocate for a second here, most medieval fantasy games and settings are like that. You have your classic town/city with some guard population and then walk into the nearest woods only to find a rampant bandit problem, a goblin nest, atleast three wolf packs attacking anything in sight and some ruins with a necromancer in it.Is it somewhat unbelievable with its ratios? Sure, I guess, but I'd argue that if the cities had enough manpower to organize search and extermination parties then (You), the fellow adventurer, wouldn't have a lot of things to do in the wilderness and a peaceful setting with barely any threat is simply at odds with medieval fantasy as a whole.
if i lived in the elder scrolls universe i'd become a bandit tooi'm an evil chud
>>738261452I thought the Silver Hand fights all kinds of evil magical monsters like vampires, zombies and werewolves, but they’re also extremists and opportunists. The Dawnguard is the more civilized sect of Tamriel devoted to slaying monsters.
>>738257132The player themselves is basically a bandit
>>738262567This, we're basically playing is the wake of the collapse of the reman empire, I think everything else is just trying to hit that level of golden age, but in vain, Tiber septim being a brief exception, like Aurelian or Justinian
>>738258757obsessed
>>738257917its like...so brave of you to cut off your cock and call yourself a woman. brave and stunning
>>738257132Hey isn't that Anska on the left? The last living descendant of Ysgramor?
>>738262710>AurelianAurelian (death) was the beginning of the collapse.
>>738262705ThisLitterally wears the brigand armor and guards will comment that "you wear the armor of a brigand"
>>738263094It's not a 1-1 analog, but the septim empire is trying to be the areman empire kinda like how the byzantine were grasping at old Roman glory, mostly in vain
>>738262832Good morning saars
>>738259164>it's an abstraction for the sake of gameplay and technical limitationsOblivion did a better job of populating POIs with various types of monsters instead of just bandits and draugr.
>>738263425Bandits don't take as much memory compared to unique creatures.
>>738258757SPBP
>>738263425Cyrodiil isn't a frozen wasteland. Only Riften doesn't have much undead and is full of different animals. If TES6 is in High Rock, it will be as diverse or more than Cyrodiil. If it's Hammefell, giant snakes, mummied and spiders i guess.
>>738258757This is why blue button saints are doomed.
>>738263820Can't wait to sword sing my way into a thalmor embassy and kill altmer en maase as a black arab
>>738263903Fuck that shit, the prisoner will simply find a mysterious dwemer cube and absorb knowledge from foes to use their powers/abilities.Something like that. No need to copy Skyrim for the third time with shouts and space magic.
There's a big bandit factory just off the map.
>>738264202(me)I'm just shitposting guesses, not to be taken seriously in cases it'sreal lmao
>>738263820Does PGE in the Redguard game really describe Skyrim as little more than some Antartica hellhole with rarely seen flying whales?
>>738264318Never played that game but the UESP probably have a sysnosis of its story etc. Skyrim was obviously going to be empty simply based on its geolocation and its weather being based on Bruma and thundras from 2011 Quakecon showcase.
>>738257132Lore wise Skyrim is supposed to be an incredibly harsh, unforgiving land that is more remote than say Cyrodil or even parts of Morrowind. It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that such an area where giants, frost trolls, hags, and ancient vampire lineages frequent would also be bandit-central. But the real mechanical answer is that the game would be boring without enemies.
Where do people in Skyrim learn to read such that the average person has a shelf of novels in their home like a 19th century upper-middle class family, and bandits write notes to each other? There are no schoolhouses.
>>738257132Skyrim is barely civilizedOutside of Riften, Whiterun and Solitude everywhere else is a backwater shithole
>>738261452You will not encounter werewolf camps if you're not a werewolf. Since being a werewolf/vampire sucks most people get themselves cured at the first opportunity and miss out on friendly werewolf camps and vampire convoys. You will not encounter actual friendly werewolves but you will find camps with Nords who are in human form living in the wilds if you're a werewolf (human or yiff).
>>738260337There isn't s single manned, functioning Imperial Guard fort in the entirety of Cyrodil either, shit's dire.
>>738265863Maybe some of the bandits are former legionnaires?
>>738262832You're obsessed? Yeah I thought so Saar
>>738265863Uh, in the Cloud District. But you wouldn’t know that, because obviously you don’t get there very often, s’wit.
They came here from all around Tamriel due to the political instability and civil war giving them the perfect place to rob and kill knowing full well the armies have their hands full
>>738265863Maybe the Empire pushed to make everyone at least a little literate, there was that one nord who wrote his own book despite not being able to spell properly. From there i assume the parents just taught their kids
>>738257132Civil war and dragons burning down the few fields in the tundra has? Situation in skyrim is so fucking bad people stealing from their own grave yards
>>738261452>there aren't many werewolvesLooks like the Silver Hand is doing a good job then.
>>738267037I have 500 wheels of cheese in my inventory, thoever.
>>738257132cRPG progression+dev competence crisis = you either get 10x the amount mook or 1x the mook amount with 10x HP bloat. Pick your poison
>>738262589They could have fixed this problem, by hiding those various enemies better or give them more places to hide while they move from one spot to the other, not staying in one place in addition to expand the world building by making a bigger map so you don't see their hiding place right outside the gate like in oblivion or Skyrim is especially one of those candidates that suffers from it games like rdr or kdc have shown how to do it better
>>738269143Bethesda is not a competent company, even to this day 15 years later.
>>738257132You act like that not the case in most of the world (and even in some parts of America)
>>738257132Import the 3rd world, get the 3rd world.
