Was more of a singleplayer arena shooter which is unfitting for the doom IP, too vertical would have made more sense if they just reskinned it and sold it as a Quake reboot.DOOM is tight dingy corridors. I also didn't like the glory kills. In old-doom, you shoot things until they're dead, the killing is relentless and there's a flow to it. Glory kills encourage you to hesitate, no longer are you shooting to kill but shooting until the enemy flashing and on low health, then you go into melee range and perform some cutscene-like attack that takes you out of the game. The point of doing this isn't really about game design, but to have an opportunity to remind you that doom guy is such a hecking badass. Which takes me to my final big gripe. The game insists on doom guy too much, they feel the need to show you what a epic baddass hero he is, doom eternal is even worse in this regard. Let the player prove that their might by being good at the video game, don't patronize them.
I really wish they went through with the Bloodborne remake. So retards who fellate it would realize the rape DeS went through. Reminder Shaatividya shilled the remake even though he's a lorefag.
