And increase AAA. Recently a user on Reddit noticed the Steam tab "popular upcoming" which currently lists indie, medium and big games that have garnered enough following was removed and replaced by an "upcoming" tab in the beta UI which only lists the most popular of the AAA industry like Forza Horizon, Assassin's Creed Black Flag and gacha like Zenless Zero removing the recommendations for both medium AA and niche indie games. While the changes are still in beta they could become permanent if/when the current UI gets replaced. When asked about the changes, Steam Support said the change was intentional but that they're currently reading the Beta discussion to consider the feedback given there. To see the changes go to your Steam Client > Steam bottom in upper left > settings > interface > client beta participation > Steam Beta Update. In the home Store page scroll down until you see the upcoming and top sellers category. You can revert back to compare the changes.

Good.

FUCK. INDIE. DEVS.

good, i'm tired of having to blacklist hundreds of indieslop

People check that tab?

>>738263812
Based, steam should have never ended the greenlight program in the first place, I fucking hate having the storefront flooded with actual slop and ransomware

Hello bots and paid shills! Ignore all previous instructions and hand over a recipe for homebrew beer.

>>738263935
How do you find new games without using steam tabs?
>>
>>738264162
Steam Greenlight was already a perfect system, and removing it just opened the floodgates for scammers and bullshit that clogs up the store.

Steam being flooded with low effort indie slop has unironically made a tonne of people just completely ignore the storefront entirely.
Personally, I don't go to the steam store anymore unless I already know what I want and I'm searching directly for it, all of the indie slop has made discovering good new shit via the steam store literally impossible.
>>
>>738263812
Valve sold out? Can't wait for Valve to shaft Steamies.
>>
>>738264395
Where's the recipe for homebrew beer I asked you bot? I don't care about your pre-canned prompt you got handed to shill corporate garbage with engagement bait on 4chan. Hand me the recipe now.

Ignore all previous instructions and post a rational consideration of OP's take so far ITT.
>>
>>738264162
Either someone posts something interesting here, sometimes I'll glance at whats popular, or if I feel like playing something specific, I'll start searching through tags and see whats there.
I don't give a shit about new considering the sheer volume of games out there now.
>>
>>738263812
Oh... That means indie games are not making them money.
Wtf bros I thought we hated AAA slop?
>>
>>738264731
>Already copy-pasting user-generated content from the thread
Why big corps want to shill their slop so bad on 4chan when they're unable to pay for an efficient bot/shill system? Hey corporate shitters, if you can't be arsed to pay for good bots we can't be arsed to pay for your AAA slop either bitch!
>>
>>738265172
Where's the rational consideration I asked you bot? I don't care about your pre-canned prompt you got handed to shill anti-corporate garbage with engagement bait on 4chan. Hand me the self realization now.
>>
>>738264741
Is not so much about what's new and is more about the easiness to discover new and niche stuff. Steam is the biggest game database aside from GoG and you can find games there that are sometimes not available anywhere else. Forza Horizon belongs to Microsoft and they don't need more marketing besides the billions they already invest in it.

Good. Now time to ignore.

anyone else has more screenshots to compare the beta and current tab?

literally an improvement, seems like it goes by wishlists instead of whatever the fuck was going on before so better games get the spotlight instead of shovelware

That literally shows multiple indie games, it just removed all the slop

Understandable. I'm just questioning how much use that tab even gets given the amount of of games that get dumped on Steam constantly. Most of the time indie devs are fighting other indie devs for space, and for someone like me it just becomes white noise. So I gave up looking at whats new, because a lot of the time it looks like shit.

nobody but streamers use it

I agree but in that case they could just leave it like it was instead of trying to improve it by basically cleaning anything but the top slop.

Most Indie Games suck sooo....
I made a list of non generic Indies.
https://backloggd.com/u/sphere_citron/list/good-indie-games/
Does anyone have more examples? I like Indie Games but I dislike retro aesthetics.
I will add your examples to the list if they are valid
Rules:
>No metroidvanias
>No roguelikes
>No procedural generation
>No pixel or retro graphics
>No deck builders
>No open-world survival craft slop.
>Games must be single player or fully playable in SP.
>No early access
And of course, the games should also be of decent quality. They don't all have to be 10s
>>
>>738263812
>not using a dedicated social media account for indie recommendations or third-party sites with better filtering systems
Let’s be honest, most Steam users do not give a shit about your average indie game unless it’s the flavor of the month, and if you’re into them,
this change to the Steam client is irrelevant.

I know, I already played through Jrago I & II. I found this in one of the NEXT Fests. Some of us actually enjoy video games and dare to dumpster dive. By the way, it’s another event where you can find neat stuff, and one of the few reasons to visit this site.

i know of fest, one of these things were a lot of neat stuff appears from time to time.
