>want to get deeper into the hobby now that I've Disposable income>everything is, at minimum, double that it was some years ago>new things sell out instantly only to appear at 50-100% extra in third party storesWhat the fuck happened
You snoozed so much that you now losed so much.
>>738265628>want to get deeper into the hobby now that I've Disposable incomeYou are literally the problem.
>>738265628We've been pouring gas on the economy since the 2008 recession. You're smelling it now. Sooner or later something's going to light it up.
>>738265628The steam controller doesn't really get you any deeper into vidya gayman. It's more of a luxury item.
>>738265628Don't blame the scalpers but those retards who buy this at those prices
>>738265628I'm about to cancel my order, you can have it anon.
>>738266031This, we're just trying to make bread
Your hobby is buying overpriced controllers for a pc?
Wait for new stock to come in. Do not reward scalpers.
stop buying FOMO slop
>>738265628I know lots don't want to hear this, even myself, but online ID/verification would go a long way in dealing with this shit.
use a mouse, hippy. a regular ass controller works fine for everything else, quit fallin' for fomo.
OP sounds like someone considerably younger than I.
>>738266431HELLO SARR PLEASE SUPORRRT THE CURRRENT AGENDA SARR
>>738265628Just wait a month for it to go back in stock. Its a controller, a peripheral, not a console.Anyways, buying the first iteration of new tech is retarded.
>>738266385is this comfortable to use?
>>738265628What hobby?
>>738266545idk I've been using xbox controller on PC for the past 15-20 years. I had a 360 until it drifted, now I have an xbone/series X(?) controller
>>738265628>want to get deeper into the hobby now that I've Disposable incomeDon't.
>>738266385Fuck no, I have the SN30 Pro 2 and never, NEVER the fuck again.
>>738266840oh but a $250 steam controller scalped on ebay is all good?
>>738265628If you buy a ebay controller you are 100% a certified retard lol
>>738265628>You could have bought a Dualsense Edge new for less moneykek
>>738266545I got the Pro 2 that is basically the same and it's comfy.God tier for 2D games.
>>738266545The Pro 2 was one of the most uncomfortable controllers I've ever used but a lot of anons here seem to love it. Just do what I did and order it from Amazon and return it if you don't like it.
>>738265628ai was supposed to save us from this
>>738265628>>want to get deeper into the hobby now that I've Disposable incomeThem buy a second hand steam deck for 400 bucks from ebay
>>738266431>Bro, just accept accept the technodystopian surveillance state, because it will make it easier to acquire overpriced consumer goods that have spyware built into them I wouldnt even be mad if we got the cool cyberpunk dystopia, with lazers and sex robots. But we're stuck in the faggy version with big corpo assfucking everyone, and all we get out of it is assfucked
>>738266385looks like shit desu
>>738265628>"want to get deeper into the hobby">focused only on consuming modern slop
>>738266875>how DARE ANYONE turn down my disposable chinkslop>CLEARLY they must be desperate to spend as much money as possiblewhy are shills like this?
>>738266431What's it to you if brainless idiots destroy the industry? Just let it burn
>>738267567>disposable chinkslopyou described the steam controller perfectly
>>738266545Yes
>>738266031I'll blame both of them, faggot.
>>738267859>NO U8bitdo shills... we got too cocky
>>738268176never too cocky. 8bitdo is in stock and selling wellsteamdrm controller is overpriced and out of stock due to lack of manufacturing. artifical scarcity and so, the controllers are being traded back and forth between scalpers.8bitGODs can't lose
>>738265628>gpu is too old for driver updates time is a nigger
>>738266545i don't really like mine and i wouldn't buy it again but its usable
>>738268532>saaar we are very powerful because we sell worse than steam controllerriiiiiiiiightpajeet reasoning as usual
>>738267567>most repairable controller ever made>disposable
>>738268532When are they doing the Ultimate 3E cause that one actually looks comfortable for adult hands
When is it coming? I got it on the first wave but it still hasn't moved in over 24 hours
>>738265628anon there's so many good retro games you can emulate and learn about wtf are you doing.
>>738265628Just get a dualsense and be done with it.
>>738269363Wondering the same
>>738269363when the next shipment arrives from guanzhou. give it 6-8 weeks and yours will be shipped :)
>>738266385>breaks within 6 months of use
>>738268616>we sell worse than steam controllerI don't believe that's true since 8bitdo is has hundreds of thousands of sales on amazon.
>>738269637the steamdrm controller does for sure. that's why they keep yapping about how easy it is to repair. it's cheap chinesium kek
>>738265628how did Valve avoid having this happen with Steamdeck and how did this happen?
>>738269702they had a pre order deposit thing and it was limited per account
>>738269671>"saaar 8bit is has redeemed the sales"shill ESL lol
>>738266431>retards just throwing liberty away in the hopes they can get some gadget 2 weeks earlier without having to overpay Blessed retard, may you curse us all to slavery.
>>738268694>most repairable controller ever made
>>738269732Steam controllers were also limited by account.
>>738270760>"saaar my controller is has very repairable look I can take the top off yes?"saar kindly redeem your shitty chinkslop soldered trigger components and joysticks?
Then just wait a couple of weeks to get one you fucking retard
>>738271014Soldered joysticks?
Which gaming controller (for smartphone and Android tablet) would be ideal for me, who hates Steam, hates playing with a keyboard and mouse, hates Gabe Newell, hates the Steam Machine, hates Half Life, hates FPS games, hates the Steam Deck, hates Valve, and wants a controller with an anti PC gaming design in every way?
>>738271416God now that I'm looking at it they use the same shitty plastic they used with the SN30 Pro+ where if you just tighten a screw a little too much it cracksWhat a fucking joke
>>738271416>saar kindly ignore the soldered parts I cannot take off of the triggers and joysticksyeah sorry bro but steam is better
It really bothers me knowing that we've advanced so much in tech that in most products you can get good features for very cheap but we're still paying for brand. Like look at computer mouses, some cost 30, some cost 200, does the more expensive one really have 5x better parts? Or how expensive audio can get...
Just wait for it to come back in stock lol, who cares? Do your best to make fun of resellers and make them feel unsafe. Shop directly out of their carts in stores.
>>738271547I'm agreeing with you dumbassI'm pointing out this controller is awful to repair, not the "most repairable"
>>738266219>mfw I've been using the same shitty logitech controller for like 20 years nowAlso, sex with Aqua.
>>738271557There is more to making good hardware than slamming random components together.
>>738265843op napped and got slapped
>>738271668Nobody said 8bitslop was the most repairableThe steam controller is the most repairable controller ever made
>>738271790follow the fucking string of replies
>>738271716Like what? It's all been solved. It literally is all about slamming components to pcb and then copying xbox or ps shape and layout.
>>738266431>>>738266496 >>738267363 >>738267819 >>738270753All fair points and I agree with you.
>>738266385Ditching my 8bitdo Ultimate for a Steam Controller :)
>>738265843>>738266031>release controller at fuck o'clock so that only people who make a living scamming (like scalpers) can buy it, sells out after 30 minutes>people who actually work and can afford the 100% markup need to buy it from scalpers just to get oneBrilliant fucking plan.
I got this about five years ago, works for me.I do like Valve hardware, but I have NEVER seriously used the trackpads and rear buttons, even the gyro aim. I've never tried to brute force playing a true KB+M game on my steam deck, though, and they're nice to have.I think if you don't have a steam deck, the steam controller seems great, I would question anyone who had a steam deck and still felt the need for one, however - you don't have to collect them all.
>>738272160>seething over being unable to take a break at the right timepffft
>>738266545>use??You mean put on your shelf and look at? It has a stand included, but it's not transparent.
When are they going to ship my controller?
>>738272331when the next shipment arrives from the Shenzen factory. check the shipping forecast for the china seas for an estimate. 8-12 weeks unless trump declares war on taiwan or some shit
>>738265628I fucking hate resellers. I wish they all die in a fire, screaming.
>>738272194This is the only good d-pad on the market
>>738269363Same boat, no idea.
>>738269732>>738269702>>738270809Way lower cost barrier.
>>738265843fpbp. waitfags eternally btfo
>>738269687sorry i'm not a retard and use linux instead of windows in the year 2025+1, steam isn't required for me to use the controller.
>>738265843YepSpammed that button good and I got mine in the first 15 minutes
>>738270809Nah, per order. Some people pulled off multiple 2 controller orders.
>only costs $60 and mogs the Steam Controller due to having a asymmetrical sticks and feeling more comfortable to hold
>>738266385I have that one and bought the Steam controller because the 8bitdo isn't comfortable for me to use. Actuation force on the face buttons too high, shape not suitable for my hands. Plus only bluetooth wireless on Linux.
>>738270809it's 2 per order you can just make multiple orders
>All that to make like $160 after feesScalpers need to hang. I wasn't going to buy one anyway, but fucks sake.
>>738272267to use it on my hands for playing, but I already got my answer from the replies
>>738273820It's volume; no one is actually selling 1 controller. If you sell 20 of them you just made 2.5 grand.
>>738271679same, picrel. it's incredible that this piece of shit I bought secondhand in 2005 or something is yet to experience any kind of malfunction
>>738269637source?
>>738274014>20It was 2 per account. I hope they all get their orders cancelled if they tried that.
>>738273657Wow, what happens to the price when you add on a wireless dongle and a rechargeable battery pack?
>>738273383so this wont happen with the steam machine?
>>738265628Imagine trying to buy game informers and they're like $10-$15 a magazine now.
>>738266431Why would it matter when I can just use my families' IDs too? Things like this and console releases should give priority to people who have established accounts.
You should have to record playtime with the hardware or be faced with a charge later.
>Paying $200 for a controller when a $15 mouse and keyboard is an infinitely better input method for 90% of games and the few that do require controllers can easily be played with a $30 8bitdo
What would you guys even want to play with a steam controller that can't really be played with a normal one? I bought one myself and wanted to use it in flight games like Nuclear option as well as a in general use controller.
>>738274486There's no account age limit though. Personally I think Valve should've done a rolling stock with all 10 year accounts getting first dibs, then 5 years, then 1 year.
>>738272160or you could just not be a nigger and wait a month when they are restocked, its a controller
>>738276408What if mine is 21 years old (it is)?
>>738275880>I want to ride a bicycle >ARE YOU RETARDED A CAR GOES FASTER REEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>738265628You should be happy you didn't get one. You dodged a landmine, and now you can actually buy a real, high-quality, controller such as the DualSense for example. Instead of that cheap, plastic junk with touchpads directly below the analog sticks, lmao.
>>738279186yeah and it will be a piece of shit with less features and a quarter of the battery life lmaoand then when it breaks you will have to buy another piece of shit
>>738265843there's been overpriced "pro" controllers for years and this took a half hour to sell out shut up dumb retarded faggot
>>738272160or you could just use your current fully functional controller for a few more weeks. what are you, genuinely retarded?
>>738265628Wait for ifixit to add Steam Controller parts to their store, you can build a Steam Controller yourself by doing that.
>>738272149Same except Ultimate 2.Nothing wrong with it strictly speaking, but since I started using my Steam Deck I can't go back. I now prefer playing games on my Deck at 800p over playing on my PC at 4K because the controls are just that much better. Steam Controller literally saves gaming for me and I'm not even exaggerating.
>>738272160Anon it's your own fault for having a job, I haven't worked a day in 15 years so I'm getting my controller later this week. I'll get way more use out of it than you would anyway.
>>738281663I'm not that used to the deck pads yet! But they look cool, and I look forward to learning something new.
