Seems like a lot of people (including reviewers) don't understand that the Steam Controller is more capable than every other input device, ever.

Found this 1hr tutorial, published a couple days ago. It's made by a europoor, but the content is deep. He uses the Steam Deck, so it lacks commentary on the abilities of grip sense, because only Steam Controller has that.

Valve should be making this content, or better yet a game on-par with The Lab to teach people about Steam Controller's complete functionality. Aperture Desk Job barely scratches the surface.

You can do most of these things on any other controller as long as you use Steam and Steam Input.
>>
>>738268035
useless features that literally no game does or WILL take advantage of
>>
>>738270635
Literally EVERY game takes advantage of it. You didn't watch the video and have no fucking idea what you're saying.
>>
>>738268496
Isn't that the point? That other controllers fall short of its functionality?
>>
>>738270635
Why do I need a game to "take advantage" of it
I can use steam input to just use everything as I please
>>
>>738270635
Half Life 3 will be made exclusively for it
>>
>>738268035
Everyone with a steam deck already knew all of this. That's why there was excitement for it in the first place.
Everyone saying it's "too expensive" were decklets that simply do not know the comfort of steam input and trackpads.
>>
>>738270965
Retard reading comprehension much? It's a steam app, not the controller.

Lesson on the On Screen Keyboard: STOP PUSHING ON THE TRACKPADS TO TYPE! PULL THE FUCKING TRIGGERS!
>>
>>738270635
Go ahead anon. Go play Thief Gold with a regular gamepad config. I'll wait.
>>
>>738271534
"too expensive" at barely msrp $100 means that:
>they are too poor and living below poverty levels and shouldn't worry about gaming gadgets and should worry about finding work instead.
basically.
>>
>>738272642
why would I play some PC uncslop?
If a game can't be properly played with a gamepad than it's shit. Period.

bros why did I never try that before
>>
>>738272642
Thief on the Deck with headphones is really comfy. Felt like a genius when I bound the inner joystick ring to Shift.
>>
>>738272539
its surprising how intuitive typing on the touchpads feels, its not the fastest way to type or anything but it is surprisingly quick.

i do wish tho that the steam controller had an accessory like picrel to make typing even easier. using that with a steam machine in desktop mode might actually be an acceptable way to comfortably use a pc in your livingroom without a giant bulky Bluetooth keyboard or trying to voice input on a TV controller

It's literally a keyboard. It is identified as a keyboard and uses keyboard drivers.

clearly not a gamer, niger letters not blurred.

As you say, trackpad typing is already really good. Why would you want a hunk of plastic that adds heft, gets dirty, and breaks over time?

I guess I read your post better than you did.

SC can do more.

looks sweet, glad I got one.

As much as retards getting scammed by shill spam deserve it, it's getting fucking obnoxious.
>>
The trackpads work ok on the deck but there's no point when you have a mouse and keyboard so most people will end up not using them
>>
>>738268035
hey unpaid valve intern that should buy an ad, what the fuck is the point in shilling this always online DRM controller when valve would rather buy another yacht company than actually produce enough controllers?

>>
>>738277734
Switch sure, I use Steam Input on Switch games weekly on my Steamdeck.

the fact that you had to dig out the most ancient slop no one ever plays just shows how desperate you are and how you lack any real examples

if you run linux on ps5 now then sure it works! but you wont be playing any games, because the ps5 doesnt have any!

False. Steel Battalion's controller exists.
>>

if steam controller is so amazing why cant i buy it?
check n mate muslims
>>
>>738281283
Because manufactured scarcity is a part of the plan
>>
Before I bought a new controller I also thought I would do all this retarded configuration shit. But now I'm just playing 99% vanilla controller settings. It's like people are hyping shit like gyro but don't understand gyro has to be finely tuned to not feel like shit for every single game.

Doesn't Tfix have analog controls? Pretty sure you can set your left stick to joystick controls, and set joystick ingame to move/strafe.

can't it just be used as a generic bluetooth controller for switch and android or whatever?
