So I am well aware that "High end" gaming laptops are essentially a scam but I do want a gaming laptop that is capable of playing indie games because I'm traveling a lot now and no a steam deck won't cut it because I want to play wow on it.

Does anyone have any knowledge on what a good would be? One thing I think I might have caught onto is that weaker is better because they run cooler and therefore last longer

While it performs like a 3070 desktop, it mogs both the 3070 and 3080 desktop nowadays in several modern games thanks to its 16Gb VRAM.
I wanted to buy a new one with a 5090 but the 5090 mobile has basically the same performance of a 4090 mobile, so what's the point? It's a lot of money for something that might be more or less in 5070Ti territory, might as well wait for a 6090 since my current laptop still performs very well at 1080p maxing everything up.

After that the battery becomes too fatigued to properly power the hardware while still maintaining a charge. This means while working the battery will slowly drain even with a power input. It's not a proper power supply after all.
Still, it'll be manageable for another year or two. But eventually the battery becomes too worn out to hold a charge under any strain. At that point a replacement is necessary, and unfortunately a batter with enough capacity to maintain that level of hungry hardware is gonna be a $600+ replacement
