This was better than twisted metal, but I only ever played the map with the giant ant.

You are my brother in arm(ed vehicular combat)
>>

That was a great map. But IIRC isn't that one from 2?

This game is kino, stfu.
>>738292094
I miss the tone of this game so much. Even with the alien and the robotic shit, it was awesome.
>>
>>738291586
I was so mad when I found out the playstation version had full FMV instead of slideshows

I liked the special moves from every car
>>
>>738291586
V8 was fun though
>>
>>738291637
this, when vehicular combat is dead (besides fucking ace combat) we don't have time to be at odds

TO BE FAIR, the midi audio of the N64 is EXTREMELY catchy. I even like it better than the CD recorded music. And we had 1 extra bonus level, which the PS1 version did not receive.

Why would you be angry at having two cakes? but for me my favorite car + powers game was NASCAR Rumble, granted it wasn't battling but racing.

The world needed Blur 2.
>>
the world needs Interstate '77

This shit was so fun but also so simple. I'm surprised no indies or AA studios have tried to clone it.
>>
>>738291586
The best combat vehicle game.
>>
>>738291586
Were twisted metal maps as open as these, or were they more arena-ish?
>>
>>738291586
Gonna shut your mouth...

I wish I could get it to run on win 10

I confess... that you are a mess! Hahahaha!
>>
>>738291586
My friends and I played Vigilante 8 multiplayer more than Twisted Metal. Either way, both were cash.
>>
>>738297668
Depends a bit on the specific entry and map. As a general rule, though, Twisted Metal maps from that generation were pretty open, but flatter: they generally had some verticality to them, but more in the form of ramps, jumps, and platforms/rooftops rather than the hills and such found in V8.
>>
>>738291586
Are you implying Vigilante 8 wasn't great?
>>
I remember replaying it on xbox 360, it wasn't the same magic, the original was simply a masterpiece, tried twisted metal and it was its megashit minion
>>
>>738291586
I fucking loved Vigilante 8 and Second Offence.
>>
>>738291586
Started playing this again recently and I was kind of taken aback to how well it aged. My retarded ass still gets disoriented in Twisted Metal sometimes meanwhile V8 still feels perfectly esponsive.

2nd Offense's OST is so fucking good.
One of the rare times where the N64 version of an OST can go toe-to-toe with what the PSX/DC was doing.

FUCK

>>
>>738305519
did you forget that large swathes of the country exist or are you just naturally this retarded
>>
>>738305519
The driving part of car combat games is barely relevant though. Interstate 76 is the only one I can think of that actually uses it.
>>
This game was fucking awesome. I played a pirated version which I bought in Poland or Russia back than for a dollar. It only ran in black and white. Played the shit out of this game nonetheless.
>>
>>738296237
GOD
BLUR
I miss this nigga like you wouldn't believe
The multiplayer was awesome
The car balance and handling perfect
The powerups TAILORED
Even the aesthetics were absolutely peak
It was probably the most fun I ever had in a racing game.

It is a crime that it ended there
>>
was TMB really too hard or are people just bad at video games?
>>
>>738306043
RIP Bizarre Creations. I won't forget.

Black wasn't as hard as TM2. Shit, you had to use those combo moves if you wanted to have a chance. Especially against Darktooth.
>>
Sure have been a lot of suspiciously pro-N64 threads on /v/ as of late. I appreciate (You) OP.
