Back in HW if you had a MNK with enough gear you could coordinate strats thanks to fists of earth + various other shenanigans to just barely survive the tank busters in phase 2 of Sephirot EX to open the door on solo tank runs. Too just a bit more effort to see it get adopted in PF strats (especially because the strat required a gear check on the MNK) but for groups that pulled it off it cut down kill times significantly. But even then you don't need Sky High IF they keep the 90% buff to cheese only tank busters, you could use it to handle mechanics like party stacks solo too.That's where job design should evolve to anyway, especially with the ilvl syncing making it far easier to players to flex multiple jobs over multiple gear types, I no longer see any purpose in safe fight design where no individual job thanks to their individual unique traits can offer any form of "unfair advantage" from others beyond Yoshi-P's own vanity (he's been trepidation around such game design since as far back as ARR Alpha tests where he had to explain to a bunch of 1.0 players why he felt the need to cut mechanics like enemy elemental resistances and weaknesses to avoid scenarios where a job like BLM becomes a brick because they're against a fire resistant guy.) If some guy gets locked out of someone else's PF group because they insistent on being an X job one trick instead of expanding their horizons in playing multiple jobs in the game where such a feature is one of it's core traits that should only be their problem, the rest of the game shouldn't have needed to bend around them. At the end of the day such players can just create their own PF groups.
