I think the problem is starting around Cata and getting progressively worse from there, the zones just started feeling way too crammed with stuff. like the environment artists still do good work but there's no room for a zone to breath. you're on rails the whole time and every square inch is designed as part of content, the zones don't feel like natural spaces like they did in vanilla.
