How strong are EDF niggas in sci fi power scale? Can they fight space Marines?
>>
I know next to nothing about WH40K but don't Space Marine literally fire big ass explosive shells out of their bolters? They use sub-machine guns that fire something akin to mini-tank shells right

They're also genetically modified and wear ultra power armor so I feel a dozen EDF grunt would get raped and gaped pretty hard by just one space marine

Fuck no nigga, EDF guys are fighting ants at best.
>>

Dunno wtf EDF troopers shoot but their guns kill giant insects, bipedal weapon holding frogs, robots and kaijus
>>
>>738311505
Though they look like worthless peashooters that wouldn't even phase the weakest of enemies, their guns are actually miniaturized automatic artillery canons.
>>

Space Marines shoot .75 cal hypersonic rocket propelled bullets.
Humans today already have .90 cal bullets, and many firearms shoot just shy of hypersonic speeds. Also we have autocannons that are larger caliber than bolt guns + penetrate, then explode just like bolt guns, yet EDF lore states none od this is enough for some of the bugs/aliens. So EDF reverse engineered weaponry is actually much stronger than Space Marine tech, because it actually kills bugs/aliens that were immune to the equivalent of bolters.

Not very. But they're little immortal bugs that revives each other all the time. The only way to completely defeat them is a planetary annihilation... Assuming they haven't' escaped to space by then.

They'd do very good in a helldivers setting. I don't think they'd stand a chance against a space marine though. They could probably take on some hordes that would come at them

As a fan of both franchises, I think 40k comes out on top even though EDF soldiers are surprisingly durable.
With enough armor, EDF grunts can withstand gigantic wasps, even bigger wasps, ant acid that melts through armored combat vehicles, straight up explosions and even direct hits from plasma cannons.
Do they have a chance against space marines? Depends on which media you take as standard. In some animations they drop dead quite quickly in some are impenetrable human tanks. Mostly I think they are stronger than EDF, but that armor strength is definitely superhuman and would serve better than most other sci-fi settings.

Yeah, if you dropped the EDF in Helldivers things would be pretty interesting.
Sure, they're probably not gonna be retaking any enemy-controlled planets, but they're absolutely gonna make sure that every planet of theirs doesn't go down.
Especially since most of their basic arsenal seems to be support weapon tier at minimum.

I dunno but the Wing Diver could snap my neck with her thighs

the EDF are a direct equivalent to the guard in every way, and the guard can and have staved off a chaos incursions led by chaos marines

EDF are confined to earth, any significant power in 40K which wanted them dead has about 1000 different options to simply blow up their planet without ever setting foot on it. There is no recourse when an Atmospheric Incinerator Torpedo is launched at you.
If they wanted something from the planet alive, it'd be more difficult, but if they only needed an object, that's what virus bombs are for. If they want the planet brought into Imperial compliance (or just settled by Imperial citizens after wiping out the existing population) a series of traditional bombardments will be more than enough.
The EDF is not space-faring in a meaningful way, all the major 40K powers are. This makes any fight between the two a complete joke.
>>
Not only endgame weaponry can wipe few squads of marines per shot, not only does a fencer have everything terminator has in a much more mobile pack, the storm team has that slapstick presence, which will drag space marines down to their level of ridiculous. So I assume they join fight with aliens, but all comedic-like.

Comparatively, I think EDF soldiers have poor protection, but remarkably high firepower. A lot depends on how common the weaponry available to the player is supposed to be, though, since the NPC soldiers tend to have pretty simple loadouts.

To be fair, WH40K does tend to heavily downplay the importance of air/space superiority. If a conflict between the two forces happened in the setting, it would absolutely become a pitched battle on the ground, even if that doesn't really make any sense. Similarly, defeating space-faring invaders is something the EDF has shown they can accomplish.

4 year old mentality
if somebody came into my house and blew their head off with a shotgun I'd be annoyed then too, doesn't mean they won
