The gameplay is fun but they shit up the story. I played Remake, started Rebirth and when the midgar swamp wouldn't let me run in and die to the snake I stopped playing with the intent to play it again but never did.
Proving once and for all that the franchise is nowhere near as relevant as it used to be and that the boomers in charge of Sqeenix are out of touch and coasting off of goodwill from nearly 30 years ago
