That's an obvious sequel hook because it's not clear what the message says. 1 also ended with an aggressive sequel hook where Sora is standing at a literal crossroads unable to go home. He could just say fuck it and go back to what he was doing before the games started, but he could've done that pretty early in KH2 anyway. It's clear he chooses to go on life or death journeys, and there's at least new information for him at the end of KH2 that was important enough to travel across worlds.
