Be honest with me guys: are gaming wheels fun? I just want to play Eurotrack Simulator and free driving modes in any vidya I can find, I don't care about racing.
>>738322250They can be. I recommend buying a middle of the road cheap one in case you dont like it though because it isnt for everyone
>>738322250Yeah but most of them feel like toys until you splurge for the expensive shit. Personally I recommend to buy a cheap logitech belt wheel and if you like that and will play a lot, then upgrade to a DD.
>>738322250why don't you get a god damn (driving) job?
I feel like there is a lot more that comes with 'just' a wheel so I'm hesitant to get one too>need to make sure chair doesn't roll back when pressing a pedal (fixed with a wedge so you can't move?)>cables you need to move around when setting up/putting away (maybe there are wireless options idk)I don't know if setup/config in games is easy but I imagine it being a pain too. I've always had this feeling that you must be low-functioning and absolutely hyperfixate on only the good, like flight sims, but not as severe.>>738322618because I already have a desk job where I can skip half the time and nobody would care. I've considered a driving job but this is better
>>738322250Yes. I bought a Logitech G29 for GT7, Assetto Corsa, and Dirt Rally. Ended up putting multitudes more time into ETS2/ATS and Mud Runner/Spintires.
>>738322250Definitely they're fun. I kinda stopped using mine because I didn't have much room so packing it up and setting it up was annoying. I wanted to buy a fun car but that's been put on hold until next year cuz of life stuff. So I'm considering building an actual sim rig.

>>738322943>holds up his hand to the oncoming trafficevery time
>>738325034>>holds up his handyou do know he is greeting his colleagues and not just holding up his hand?
>>738322250The Logitech budget wheel is all you need for truck sim.It works fine.
>>738322476Bought a T300 set myself. Not even 15 minutes in and it's>oh I need more than just shift paddles>oh i'll need the handbrakeThat being said glad I didn't get the T598, fucker would shake my desk to bits.
>>738322250Yes but I _HIGHLY_ suggest investing in a portable frame for it rather than attaching it to your desk. I've had racing wheels before and they were always too much of a hassle so I'd end up selling them. Now that I have a stand I can set it up in a few seconds when I'm in the mood for a racing game. Also I recommend VR but you're probably poor.
>>738322943Never had a problem with my chair moving, you're pressing down more than you're pushing away.>>738323068see:>>738326585>>738325337As long as you mean one with force feedback. The most basic ones are shit.
>>738322250extremely, it's a massive game changer for driving games, ASSUMING the game you're interested in has proper support for wheels
>>738326585>you're probably poorBased on what?
It’s great. If you enjoy driving then it’s a no brainer imho. I’ll say skip the G29 and go for a used T300 or, if you love cars and driving, go direct drive right away. The Logitech RS50 is very based
>>738326842it's /v/, you need to insult someone or else you're not really posting
>>738325393You don't need anything more than a wheel and pedals. Handbreak, shifters, stalks, etc. Are just there to better immersion, but don't materially improve your gameplay. In fact I would argue they male your gameplay worse, at least in racing sims.
