>START & STAY AS ONE CIV
Releases on May 19, 2026.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJKJl-7dNtA
>>
game's still shit unfortunately
>>

>>
buy a nigger
>>
>>738322552
How much for a single nigger kind sir?
>>
>>738322308
Looks good. Once they finish removing the rest of the new features, I'll consider playing it.
>>
Fuck off.
>>
>>738322308
Someone free Firaxis from 2K's evil clutches
>>
>>738322664
Weeeeelp I got a few bucks for sale, this'n here will go fer about $3.50
>>
>$69,99
Yeah that shit is too expensive for me to care about any potential reworks of a game that has yet to receive any positive reception. I bought Old World for two dollars last month and it's pretty good.
>>
>>738322308
Thanks for sharing OP. This latest update for the latest entry in the critically acclaimed Sid Meier's Civilization series, Sid Meier's Civilization VII, is just what many long time fans wanted. Now they and new fans can enjoy the classic persistant civilization mechanic, adding new ways to enjoy an already great game.
>>
>>738322308
There's a new one? But Civ6 is still shit
>>
Does the update remove brown?
>>
>>738322308
>flopped by copying another game that flopped trying to surpass you

What the fuck was Sid thinking?
>>
>>738322308
All the changes they made to the game that completely take away what makes it a Civilization game, I really only want to know one thing. Can I name my nation and people and cities what I want or not?
It's the most basic feature of the entire series. Taking it out proves they haven't just lost the thread, they don't even know they're supposed to have it.
>>
There's no reason for anyone who likes this genre and hasn't tried Old World yet to continue pursuing Civ 7 content.
Old World was already leaps and bounds better and its recent expansions only push it more. In case you care about pedigree, it's made by the developer of Civ IV
>>
>>738322552
Not since Civ 4.
>>
Tell me when they add a leader for every civ that is tied exclusively to that civ. Also tell me when they've removed Tubman, Lovelace, Battuta, Machiavelli, and Rizal, replacing them with real leaders. Then, and only then, will I consider buying at a 50% discount.
>>
How much developer hours and game architecture rewrites did they need to implement staying the civ you picked?
>>
>>738324447
>Lovelace
Rediculous how blown up she became compared to Babbage.
>>
>>738322308
Have they removed all the woke yet?
>>
>>738322308
Let's look at the leader options in the game.

>Ada Lovelace
??? As the leader of a civilisation???
>Amina
Who?
>Ashoka
I know you have to appeal to Indians these days, but who the fuck?
>Ashoka, again.
Why are there two of this guy?
>Augustus
Decent choice. I know they avoid picking the same leader multiple times, so some variety of Caesar is nice. I feel like they should really branch out from just doing Roman Emperors, and look to The Republic era, or maybe even go for Romulous himself.
>Benny Franklin
At least he was a statesman, I suppose. I feel like Franklin is the excuse for why we get fucking Ada Lovelace, but Benny boy was a pretty active politician before getting into the kite game.
>Catherine The Great
I mean, sure, she's a notable figure. But, she's also been the leader of Russia in nearly every game now. It's fine to have a couple notable leaders who show up sometimes, but she's been in like 5 games now. It's very much a "Why not something different" question.
>Charliemané
Eh, sure, whatever. He's notable, and whilst he's been in series before, it's only once as far as I recall. France kinda always gets boring picks. They made Joan d'Arc the leader once, and she didn't even do shit besides die. She wasn't even French. So, I guess it could be worse.
>Confucious
I feel like they're running out of Chinese leaders they can depict and give drawbacks to, or else the game will get banned in China for implying anything is bad about the Chinese state. Really weird choice all around. It's like making Martin Luther a civilisation leader.
>Edward Teach
Blackbeard? The pirate? What?
>Friedrich The Great
Solid choice.
>Friedrich The Great, in a black hat.
I don't really get this Personas thing.
>Genghis Khan
Boring, but, sure. I feel like as a "Civilisation" the huns are kinda overrated.
>Harriet Tubman
you fucking what

Total Boomer Victory
>>
Prediction.
I'll have a big bump on it's first week, maybe even briefly go over Five on the weekend, but not enough to hold for a time.

This is worse than them committing. Now you have a frankenstein game reverse engineered to gut an integral mechanc. Its like cutting your dick off then when people don't like it you glue a sausage back on
>>
>>738322308
Being able to stick with the same civ through the ages isn't even a big deal. If they actually made the victory conditions actually fun then that ought to be the selling point. Dunno about the new commerce screen, but the current UI for trade routes and resources is so awful that they couldn't have made it worse.
>>
>>738322308
this update wasn't out yet? jesus christ they talked about it months ago.
what a pile of shit. never buying.
>>
>>738322985
same here
i kinda suck at it though
>>
>>738324062
>Humankind was actually a poison pill to kill Civ
>>
>>738333513
It is a big deal, but they are going to struggle to get the people they alienated with that decision back on board.
>>
>>738329698
>worst sequel
>randomly has a top tier waifu

Fuck off retards I'm not buying dlc to fix your shitty game you made shitty on purpose.

The funniest thing about Confucius is that, in real life, he was offered a position as a governor and also offered higher government positions where he could help rule China IRL and he said "No, that's okay".

AYO MUHFUGGA IMMA KILL WHITEY UPIN DIS BIHH
>>
>>738337538
It's a free* update.
>>
>>738322308
Was Civ VII's launch so bad they got to work immediately to make a new game? I didn't buy it because it looked like it wasn't fun but was it really that bad?
>>
>>738322881
get your own goddamn money
>>
>>738326134
>Harriet Tubman
I'd prefer someone like Alexander Hamilton or William Jennings Bryan if they want to be commies. They'd lead to interesting gameplay ideas. If they wanted to go with a president Monroe would have been cool.
>>
>>738336609
Racists will just see a violent thug, but I see a doctor, an engineer and a scientist
>>
>>738326134
>Harriet Tubman
If they wanted a black abolitionist who actually mattered at all it should have been Frederick Douglass
>>
Any clues on who the new leader is going to be? In the trailer they use male pronouns and call him "great" obviously alluding to the title.
>>
The only explanation I have for why Civ 7 is designed that way is because Firaxis saw what Humankind was doing and thought that it’d be the next big breakthrough for the genre. Then Humankind came out, was poorly received, and flopped, but by then it was too late to change course for Civ 7.
Truly a case study in how exponentially longer development cycles are a contributor to enshitifaction

Did they not have a single QA test, closed beta test, survey group -- anything at all -- to tell them how deeply unpopular the idea of civ-switching would be?
Such an exceptional change requires an exceptional amount of feedback beforehand. Think of how much money they could have saved on development costs to revert shit when they could just throw the idea out to the public first and gauge the reaction. Good money after bad, and such.

harriet tubman is so absurd
her involvement in the underground railroad is often either grossly overstated or completely made up. Even if someone was pointing a gun at their heads telling them to put in an abolitionist there were tons of better choices than her
>>
>>738339275
that's exactly what it was, they stole districts from Endless Legend then just tried to do it again with Humankind

my personal schizo theory is that Amplitude was deliberately retarded because they knew Firaxis would just copy their homework unthinkingly, then they kill their chief rival and get out from under Sega's boot in one fell swoop
>>
>>738339275
it's 100% what happened
>>
>>738342207
>Did they not have a single QA test, closed beta test, survey group -- anything at all -- to tell them how deeply unpopular the idea of civ-switching would be?
Yes, but any time anyone gave their honest opinion firaxis ended the relationship and called them a shitlord nazi chud fascist.
>>
>>738343964
>spoiler
Even if it weren’t 4D chess Amplitude clearly learnt their lesson because Endless Legend 2 is already better than Humankind even unfinished
