Found out this IP is weirdly popular in Thailand because it had some sort of crossover in some korean MMORPG called Nostale which was popular in Thailand. I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's also because of pirate carts/1000-in-1 famiclones sold there. https://nostale.fandom.com/wiki/Jajamaru

I mean, good for it and all. I've actually played some of the games as an American and it's a quaint little series. I don't know if any of the games are great (I haven't played them all), but the ones I have played range from bad-to-good with more games than not ranging around mediocre~solid. He also inspired the Haggleman games in the DS version of Game Center CX, so he gets props for that too. He's a funny little guy and I wish him well. Last time I saw, some of his older japan-only games actually got recently translated for a western release and put on consoles. Sometimes he shows up on twitter, occasionally meeting Bub from Bubble Bobble and other mascots. Good for him.
