I played it when it came out. It was novel to have a 3D Mario game about just getting to the flagpole, but this felt like yet another NSMB game that didn't really do anything well and intended to coast purely on nostalgia. 3D World was basically the same concept but executed way better.

Good game but a lot harder to enjoy after playing 3D world or odyssey for the first time. Not bad by any means, just feels dated
