I'm just now learning that this was announced. It makes sense, but it also doesn't. Star Fox was always Miyamoto's vehicle for his cinematic whims, this is where he pushed stuff like graphics and voice acting. I get bringing it back as a means of showing off the Switch 2 I guess, and Starfox 64 IS a good game in its own right. But they already remade this game on the 3DS, why not just make a new one that learns from what 64 did right at this point? I dunno, good vidya is good vidya but whatever.

I think SF64 remake is a good starting point considering that majority of young folk has not played it.
It's a great game so it's a good for first timers.
If it sells well like SF64 with N64 they can do a sequel.

Can't wait for the Oot remake because it means there'll eventually be a MM remake as well.

I still don't think this is happening.
With Starfox there is a precedent. The Starfox 64 has been remade multiple times already, and somehow it's clear that they feel like they never quite got it the way they wanted it. Never quite satisfied.
And with Zero being the latest example and with the reception it got, it isn't shocking that they weren't satisfied with it.

Meanwhile Nintendo are proud of OoT. And the OoT remake for the 3DS was already a sensitive project within Nintendo but ultimately, for all its flaws, Nintendo appears to be relatively proud of it too. It wasn't some kind of flop they feel bad about.
So the original is still lauded. The game is already remade once and the remake was a success.

An OoT remake really just sounds like rumour-slop. Clickbait from the rumourmill to drive traffic. Or perhaps it's an official fake-rumour to humble the rumourmill peddlers.
Either way. Nintendo keeps trying to "revive" Starfox and there is a precedence to remake Starfox 64 in particular.
Zelda is in no position that it is in need of revival, and I don't think Nintendo are unsatisfied with OoT.
Maybe time will show that the remake is real and then I'll be the fool. But I'm betting it's not real.
