Realize how much dumb drama they cause and how much personal details you know about those developers you've picked up just by interacting with those communities. I'm not even sure they like the games, but boy do they love the drama.

Tales of the abyss is the best jrpg I've ever played
RPG is such a broad genre nowadays (even if you limit yourself to only western games for whatever reason). im sure you'll like a certain subsection of RPGs, but they typically pick and choose what aspects to do well, and it leads to other aspects sucking. very mixed bag genre where people will regularly say "yeah you need to tolerate X being bad but the Y is amazing"
God I wish Torment was fun to play. The setting and story or so good.
I like New Vegas but it's kinda sad knowing it's this high in the list.It's a fun game with serviceable narrative to make the agency you're given as a player feel decently impactful. But I'd like to believe the actual ceiling would be much, much higher.
