You shouldn't rest your wrist on the table, it's bad for you in the long term. Rest your elbow on your table or armrest and keep your wrist slightly above the keyboard (doesn't have to as much as in the image). I just do this? Green you use the fingertip for shift and the lower part of the finger for ctrl. If you really need to avoid shift, you move your little finger over (not pictured, shuffling your hand like a few mm to the left) and then just hit the ctrl.Like the op picture only makes sense if you think that you HAVE to use the fingertip to press the key.
