When the Series X was announced, I was disappointed that it wouldn't run Windows. If it had been their version of a Steam Machine, it would've been basically perfect for me. I had a desktop that was well past its prime, so it would've made a good amount of sense.I imagine they'll have learned that lesson and connect the dots. You have Windows, just make a gaming optimized version of Windows and make that your "console's" OS.
I think we'll at least get a date for when it's official reveal will happen. This will just be the we're completely reworking xbox thing.

My favorite of all is the randomly uneven teams in matchmaking. You could queue up for a 4v4 playlist with 4 friends and end up playing a 5v3. Hilarious the first few times it happens, but it got old real quick.

Nowadays everything is cloud synced, cloud saves are standard, everything requires an account, games are just digital licenses with files served from cloud CDNs, all the most profitable games are always-online and pull everything from remote servers. But the consumer world wasn't at that stage yet, they tried to be the leader but their platform for it was just way too expensive so it never caught on.
