The Brigador Killers demo is out, anyone playing?
>>
holy shit finally.. but im at work
>>
>>738394270
Oh damn, really? I thought they were waiting for Next Fest.
>>
>>738394270
>Brigador Killers
but it's already dead
>>
>>738395945
Maybe they're hoping to use user feedback to polish it up for the fest, who knows.
Played through the first set of levels and it's a bit rougher around the edges than Brigador, but shit like terrain destruction especially is of the same quality. Still getting used to on foot shooting controls.
Also btw by default most vehicles use screen relative controls so you might wanna change that.
>>
>>738394270
>Killers is on my Wishlist
>Killers is followed
>Brigador installed
>Easily one my most played games
>Brigador also followed
>zero fucking notification about the demo arriving
Steam is so fucking useless at times at feeding people relevant news.

Cheers of the heads up.
>>
>>738395945
Same.

Playing it so far, I was offset by the the movement at first, relative controls' AD buttons no longer turn the vehicle, it just strafes, but its easy to get used to.
Much like the original, the story is cool but the real meat is the equivalent to the freelance mode, the garage.
Although I'm not a big fan of extraction type games, BK does it quite well. The fact you start out as a pedestrian makes getting your hands on an armored vehicle even corvids would laugh at give you a major feeling of progress.
The UI can be a total bitch when dealing with crates and vehicles though. Sometimes clicking on the space for a crate does not open its inventory.
>>
>>738396337
not even first thing that comes up in the search for brigador
I call sabotage
>>
>>738396337
Yeah I only found out about it because the youtube announcement was recommended to me.
>>
>>738396528
>I was offset by the the movement at first, relative controls' AD buttons no longer turn the vehicle
You can customize controls per vehicle type and turn off screen relative movement

One crash so far. They already included a warning about nvidia cards and drivers so it must be a known issue.
Hope they bumped up the character models these guys look rough
>>
>>738397005
>not even first thing that comes up in the search for brigador
Steams algos are just unbelievably shit and weighted for popularity, i've had indie games where you could literally search for their exact name, no other game on steam with the same name and they still don't come in the immediate results and will be buried under a mountain of shit with different names.
>>
>>738397281
Yeah I'm retarded, what I was looking for was disabling follow mouse.
>>
>>738396337
The post about it shows up on my News page. Sure would be nice if there was an actual notification though, they already do that for when a game enters/exits early access so not having a similar thing for demos feels like an oversight.
>>
>>738397298
Weird, haven't had a crash and I'm using an old nvidia card on linux lol
>>
>>738397298
The mugshots in brigador always looked kinda weird, I doubt we'll see a substantial change down the line
>>
>>738394270
KB+M or controller?
>>
>>738400993
KB+M, turn screen absolute movement off for all vehicle types except agrav
>>
>>738399367
The post mentions newer cards, 40 series and up. Supposedly it's not a Brigador specific problem, but a problem on newer cards/driver combos and OpenGL.

>>
>>738396528
for mechs it seems like you can get tank controls back by disabling both "screen absolute" and "follows mouse"
haven't figured out if you can do it for infantry yet somehow
>>

>>
Fuck yes, super into garage mode. I haven't actually made it out with any good vehicles yet but I did throw some vehicle guns in a van. Infantry combat is fun too. I like how smart the enemies are, I was shooting over cover at a prone guy and one of them flanked around it to get an angle on me.

No, it's not like Syndicate. It's the sequel to an original game from like 10 years ago that adds a lot of new shit.
>>
Just finished Obstacle 1, I gotta say, I am not disappointed, the game feels very tight and satisfying, driving the cars is kinda weird with the (I think?) delay on steering, but other than that, I am excited.
>>
>>738408484
I was loading shit into a van in the garage missions and I think I noticed the van get slower as I loaded it up with loot. Not sure if that's a factor.
>>
>>738408484
The awkward steering is supposed to show the difference between a good car and a bad car I think.
>>
>>738408484
The cars are simcade-ish from what I can tell, they would probably suck if the wheels snapped around. I've been swapping to my controller when I get in one.
>>
>>738408484
>>738408638
Upon further inspection, you can see the wheels of the cars turn when you steer. It takes a few fractions of a second for them to fully turn one way or the other, which is what causes the turning delay.

Anyone handled the APCs on Wilderness well? I want to steal one but no dice so far....
>>
>>738409178
Yeah, driving seems way better with the controller.
Seems like the game commits to a full rotation of the wheel every time you press A or D and that's why there is delay, no such problem with a controller since you can gradually steer.

Fun. Experience the characters go through a GTA game where they start off scraping by with whatever weapons they can get their hands on and end up fully kitted out in armored tac-rigs with machine guns. Anyone know what the purpose of the agrav dump truck in the garage is?
Can't seem to take it out on a mission, so it's definitely not for looting stuff.
>>
>>738414332
They were still brigadors, worked for the solo nobre concern and fucked up solo nobre even more to facilitate a takeover. If you read their bio they're all recruited by SNC. Their enemy selection was different but every pilot in the first game is a brigador, except maybe precursor james.
>>
The inventory system is kinda wack but aside from that it feels pretty good, I did have a strangely hard time killing people with the mech at the end of the first campaign though. The kick seems way worse than the old stomp and enemies that have gone prone seem to get an absurd amount of defense against explosions, even ones from shells that hit them directly.
>>
>>738414647
Guessing that mech just has a unique "stomp". I do agree that prone enemies are tough to kill.
>>
is the mongoose meant to look like a ball or did my game fuck up somewhere?
>>
>>738414801
It seemed like it had the same kick that you get on foot, and I haven't tried the power suits or any other mechs yet so I've perhaps mistakenly assumed that kicks are just the universal footed melee now
>>
>>738415014
I think one of the four campaign characters you play has a stomp when on foot, maybe they all do. And you can ground slam with the pinball
>>
>>738415001
It's always been pretty rounded but if it's literally a ball then maybe the model is swapped or something
>>
>>738414647
The inventory system has some potential I think, I like being able to transfer items directly from a box into my varlet, but it needs some reworking

I put the 6 gauge full auto shotgun on mine, ammo is plentiful and it absolutely wrecks everything.
Goes through the 66 round magazine in a couple of seconds though, my stockpiles are hurting.
I think you can put any weapon on any hardpoint, as long as it's within the weight limit?
Wondering what I should switch the .22's on my APCs with, as fun as it is to tickle your enemies to death, I wouldn't mind some more punch.
>>
>>738423796
Even if they "just tickle" those APCs are fucking me up hard
>>
>>738423936
They can definitely fuck you up, especially since you don't even have the Carmine rig when you first encounter them.
I'd figure using the van with some LAWs is the safest way to deal with them since I think you can switch out the weapon on the hardpoint while out and about, just throw a couple in the van along your main weapon and ammo and switch it out when you encounter an APC.
I think there are either 4 or 5 in total in the wilderness map, so plan your loadout accordingly.

What did you guys think of the game, anons? I won't have time to play it anytime soon...

I played the first game a lot, but I always thought the combat was flawed because it's too easy to exploit the computer AI to your advantage. I finished the hardest missions using the worst combinations of machines and characters, and it's more about having patience than skill.

Note: although the word "brigador" exists, it's not actually used by any Portuguese-speaking country to mean "fighter."

So far I like it. The comparison to GTA 2 earlier feels pretty accurate; there's still some jank in the interface (especially the inventory system), and it's a bit hard to tell what guns are better because they don't have stat bars the way the original game did, but I'm having fun driving around in an unmarked white van just shooting and looting.
