Stalker isn't post apoc

stalker is awesome on the first blind playthrough, but it doesn't take that long to learn all of the mutant movement patterns and the simple way to cheese them. stalkers strength is in the way human enemies feel realistic to fight, especially if you config'd the damage to be lethally high and your doing a self-imposed ironman man so every bullet flying at you is adrenaline pumping.

some things i wish stalker had to make it feel more immersive:
- the ability to toss or place raw meat to attract carnivores, or the ability to cook meat at a fire and abandon it out for hungry stalkers to take while you prepare an ambush
- the crows or ravens occasionally taking loot while you're not looking and take it to a nest that rewards you for tracking it down
- mutated vultures that feed on dead bodies
- stalkers and animals playing dead

Even though STALKER is more of a civil war than an apocalypse it’s still a better representation of an apocalypse than 90% of apocalypse games
