Why does wesker glaze tyrants this hard? Sure one of them can fuck up a bunch of unprepared people but tyrants easily get fucked up by a squad of heavily militarized guys.

I can't remember if these were specifically Umbrella spec ops (similar to UBCS, but more knowledgeable about what Umbrella really does) or if they were just US military, but I think they were the former, meaning they were prepared to fight tyrants because they would have been briefed and equipped with gear aimed for that purpose

Except Tyrants are just big naked niggas who can be soloed by a barely-trained person with a handgun lightly jogging around a room. Oh that's just a plot contrivance for the player? Well outside of a shitty movie where one can actually take on a tank (and gets killed by brrty birds anyway) this is the only reference we have. Tyrants have exactly one feasible use as body guards, but most people wouldn't spend several tens of millions of dollars on a big genetic freak of nature they can't even talk to and will probably just go insane anyway. Albert is a fucking moron.

the dead guys in the OP pic are US military, what you're thinking of is umbrella security service which wear featureless grey/black uniforms and were used for internal security or espionage rather than outright used as containment troops, for example like with assassinating birkin and james marcus. there has been a recurring theme in the lore that the US gov had deeper knowledge of the situation so these were probably some specops delta squad type group that would have been somewhat informed about BOWs, but I don't think it's explicitly stated anywhere

most military training is a morale thing, making sure people don't crack under pressure. if you had no knowledge of zombies or tyrants and were just dropped raw into an outbreak scenario you would most likely lose your composure and panic the moment you actually saw anything

I guess this is the palce to ask? I am about to play the original R3 and i am extremely rusty, should i play hard mode or easy mode? i heard you can unlock cool stuff from the mercenaries mode that make "hard" mode more enjoyable, so maybe finish the game in "easy", unlock stuff and go into hard mode (why this game lacks a normal mode?)

It's been forever for me, but you'll probably want to at least start on Hard and see if it's doable for you. Easy as I remember it was a joke and starts you with a machine gun, has automatic dodging or much easier dodging, etc. Even ignoring later unlocks, Hard is what RE is more supposed to be, but if it kicks your ass, just restart on Easy. RE3 isn't the longest game in the world either way

Most of the time the mobs die because of zombie hordes, but the reality is a Tyrant in an actual military combat scenario is horribly inefficient if a whole fireteam were to not get totally ambushed. If one guy or girl with a gun can down a Tyrant to finish off with a convenient rocket launcher, a whole trained squad of soldiers could probably kill one. And they did at the cost of their own lives in this case.
Like is it really that big a leap that non-protagonists aren't always 100% useless in RE?

I feel like people have internalized the "incompetent military" joke to such a degree that they forget that the protagonists of these games are supposed to be barely getting by on the skin of their teeth with a healthy helping of luck. Leon and Claire aren't superhuman, they are just very fortunate. The military and police always get their asses kicked in these scenarios for the same reason Red Shirts in Star Trek die constantly - it makes the enemy seem threatening and elevates the heroes triumph over them.
>>
>>738402934
Just a nigga
>>
>>738419573
The BOW economy is essentially a bubble. It will pop any day
>>
>>738419573
Technically it's essentially manageable terrorism; instead of dropping a chemical weapon that leaves an entire region uninhabitable or a nuke that does the same effect, you can infect the locals into monsters or drop some BOWs in for fast and brutal surprise attacks on the human scale, then use counter-methods or later controls over the BOWs to seize the aftermath. Barring seizure, then you can create terror and make your point by just dropping monsters in and getting lots of people killed in short order. A Tyrant or some Lickers are fucking terrible for military conflict, but if you were able to drop one in a crowded city area with no immediate military or security presence, the death toll would be immense.
The big problem with this comes with Requiem putting inflated price tags on top of some of the sales so it becomes comically absurd to buy a single Mr. X for twelve M1 Abrams tanks in price value.
>>
>>738419573
They would be decent for assassinations, assuming you don't care about discretion or collateral damage.
>>
>>738419834
individual BOWs I can't see being very effective, but the viruses I can. Dropping a dozen Hunters into an enemy city will do far less damage than lacing a water supply with the T-Virus.

originally T was airborne and the tyrant could release it (the exposed organ on its chest, before it was changed into being a heart) and control the zombies it produced (hence the name)
for some reason this explanation didn't make it into the final game, so they've kinda just been trying to fill in the gaps ever since
>>
>>738419739
>Leon and Claire aren't superhuman, they are just very fortunate
this was true until RE6 now the meta of lorebuilding is that leon is a gigahero who kills all teh aliens and doesn't afraid of anything

They (Umbrella) weren't done making anything. I can't speak for RE2 and 3 but in the first game the T-virus leaked due to a mistake in the lab and progress on creatures like the Tyrant and Hunters stopped. What Chris and Jill fight is not the finished product.

>Wesker on the 1rst game taking advantage of the outbreak to literally using stars to test the bows.
The one thing that has always confused me in this series is that Wesker was apparently planning to fake his death in the mansion (which he did) so he could stop being a servant to Umbrella - but I never got if he injected himself with some pure strain of the virus that gave him his BS Matrix powers and let him heal, or if it was already latent inside himself, and if it was either why was that never reproduced anywhere? The entire original goal of Umbrella's founders was to make themselves into immortal gods, and whatever strain Wesker had seemed to be the closest they ever got to this.
>>
>>738422083
Come on. Devs were always movie buffs and used movies as reference. RE4 has references to Dirty Harry, Leon the Professional, La Femme Nikita etc. Krauser was clearly based on Rambo, Leon's Special 2 outfit is clearly a nod to italian mafia movies. John Wick is just as valid as a reference as those movies.
>>
>>738423848
Also tyrants are designed to
cause terror,
Easy to infiltrate on buildings and selected spaces
Easy to transport
Follow orders
Almost indestructible (see nemesis model)
Can hunt selected targets (like jill on re3) forever

Pretty handy if you ask me, even more if you can mass produce them. Just deploy them and forget they exist. Even the early versions like Mr x are useful.

>>
>>738424071
Wesker though himself as a "god". All his life seeing so many big people chaising the perfect virus got him mad in the end.
The mansion tyrant wound was the "awaken" of his virus state.
Maybe I'm not right but in re5 they mentioned something about the virus making him mentally unstable.
>>
Is wesker dead?
>>
>>738424159
NTA but it's annoying to me because in your own post you highlight a wealth of media yet John Wick has become this memetic phrase to describe anything action related now thanks to retarded smartphone users infesting the internet. IMO it's a pretty weak movie, only like two gunfight scenes are well done and the blatantly fake aftereffect gore and guns that sound like lazer beams really took me out of it, the sequels are better done in general but leaned hard into that silly over the top LE SECRET WORLD OF ASSASSINS bullshit, plus obnoxious fags talking about the dog constantly and 3 even referencing it when the entire point in the first movie is that Daisy was the last bit of his wife he had left and when she died, so did anything holding him back.
Leon being named after Leon the Professional or more recently Victor Gideon being blatantly modeled after Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs are much more tastefully done.

There is no jobbing in losing to Jill, specially when he took pretty much the best unit in the UBCS. After Nemmy Jill literally raided Umbrella BoW factories by herself. STARS were made of the top of the crop. Alpha team got in dirty and Gamma only lost two with five surviving the mansion Wesker was the weakest shit in the team.

He was simply there to be eaten by Nemesis so he can regrow his flesh and mutate into his final form after you dissolve his flesh in the previous fight.
Which is weird that it would need a tyrant's dna to turn into a G-virus monster when I thought that tyrants are T-virus creations.
