OH SHIT
jesus christ. you people behave like you've never heard of a fucking controller before.
>>738409065hello, nice to see you again in these threads anon.
>>738408901>yeah um we just so happen to make more controllers in 2 days!!Fake scarcity
>>738409307>reservationsLearn to read
>>738409065It's not so much the "controller" as it is a well designed piece of hardware.Quality is quite rare these days, zoomer. I understand that you wouldn't realize that seeing as your entire life has been filled with nothing but mediocrity when it comes to choices as a consumer.
>>738409371I almost fell for it, 9/10.
>>738408901>It's realPost yfw scalpers are gonna get fukt
>>738409809I accept your concession.
>>738408901So what measurements are they taking against scalpers this time?
>>738409972I hope valve did it on purpose just to fuck over scalpers who didn't even want it in the first place
>>738409371this isn't even the first steam controller, you act like we haven't been here before
pc is so superior dude but i really just want it to be like a console and consoom brand!
>>738409065Trend chasing retards and FOMO victims. It's just a fucking controller ffs.

>>738409065>>738410154You underestimate how valuable optional trackpads are on the steam controller 2 versus the forced ones on steam 1. Gyro aiming is unironically kino af fr fr
>>738408901tfw amerisharts will get their second-wave controllers before my first-wave arrives
>>738409065They did this last time. It's odd but honestly not that different to tendies. I just filter the threads eventually.
>>738410080Gonna be honest, the first steam controller is genius for it's time but was so flawed. It was pretty good for a lot of games, but FPS games just sucked unless you were able to master gyro (I wasn't). Having a proper dual stick controller with trackpads for casual couch gaming is really gonna be s-tier
>>738410278kek, I'm sure that argument's been raised in the threads unironically
>>738410278Its xbox fans. They will never admit gyro is good because they don't have it.Next Xbox will have gyro and they will beat their chest how cool it is despite being the last to get it. Calling it now
>>738410170Fucking based
>>738410901Gyro is cool and all, but for me, it's going to be being able to use the mouse with trackpads on the steam deck without accidentally turning off my controller like the 8bitdo. Steam Deck has a significant amount of games that work perfectly fine but require mouse input at launch due to launchers. This is really 75% of why I want two steam controllers. The other 25% is mostly symmetrical sticks
>>738410170VACbannedsisters...
>>738408901What are people using these for, just the trackpads?
>>738410531This. We had over 100 threads about a fucking N64 Remake yesterday ffs and people are crying over this shit?
>>738410170Simple as
>>738411684PCtards refuse to used Playstation controllers due to their tribalism. So this is the next best option
>>738408901I don't know much about logistics, but wouldn't it be smart to start with reservations straight away, especially since there is still time until the machine the goggles launch?Wouldn't be surprised if the same thing as with the controller happens once those launch (maybe less so for the cube), where the first stock sells out immediately. Knowing demand beforehand should only be a benefit, no?
>>738411684it's a premium controller you can buy with csgo cases. And yes, the trackpads and fuckton of other buttons that have steam big picture integration.
I want to buy 2 of them. 1 to use and one to keep in its packaging as a collectable. I have a steam shelf with things like the deck and index all unopened.
>>738411586Your hubris is finally coming back to bite you in the ass. Hope it was worth it, HAHAHAHA!!
>>738409307it's not like controllers are ultra-complex technology, anon.them letting you place a preorder which gets fulfilled in a week or two is realistic
>>738411758ps5 controller is ok on pc wired, but it's bluetooth has input latency, especially on steam deck. You notice it mostly on fighting games/fast twitch side scrollers like megaman x or hollow knight. Also, the joysticks are known to go bad, as well as buttons being fucked up.
It's nice to see that PC fats have finally accepted that video games are best enjoyed with a controller.
>>738408901>uk/eu will take weeksnooo
>>738409065I'm actually due for a new controller. I've had my DS4s for over 10 years. The rubber pads are worn through a the d-pad on one is sticky. And I want the fucking trackpad so I can lounge and not have to bend to my desk to use the mouse
Are steamies the worst fanbase on /v/?
>>738411809But why do I need it instead of any Xbox/PS style controller? I don't understand. Is it like a controller for people who want to play on a keyboard?
>>738412087m+kb is superior for on-foot FPS/TPS, RTS, and top-down Diablo-esque ARPG. Controller is better for all other games and vehicles in FPS/RTS. Dedicated racing wheels + pedals/joysticks/throttles are best for PC vehicles.I'm getting this controller just for my steam deck. I'm buying it for couch casual gameplay use. I'm paying for it with CSGO cases I received for free. Basically, Steam is paying me to get one of these controllers for playing CSGO. Wish you could say the same!

>>738412460If you spent time with the original Steam Controller, you experienced the absolute s-tier genius behind the steam controller ecosystem. Basically, the controller simultaneously emulated mouse and keyboard + a regular controller at the same time. Anything running through steam allowed you to play it with or without controller support. RTS games were more accessible as well with the track pad. Additionally, you could configure the controller to go into right analog stick gyro aiming mode by programming an activation button(any button you choose on the controller). Steam has since expanded their controller configuration software on big picture mode to any controller. In addition to this, there is an online "workshop" for controller configurations for every game you can think of, that other people have already made custom configurations for if they don't exist for that game, or made a better configuration than the lazy-sloppa config the game devs threw in as a second thought. This is also available for normal controllers too now.The new Steam Controller 2 basically fixed every complaint I had about the original steam controller, which is no longer made (tried to get 4 total, but could only get 2). I get a regular playstation-esque symmetrical dual stick controller with dual touch pads as well, with every button on the controller being customizeable through steam overlay however I want it to be in multiple styles of usage for each input (ex. joystick control set as typical joystick vs wasd kb inputs mapped to joystick). Also, it's the same button layout as the steam deck, so there are already custom configs galore, specifically made for this layout.I loved the original steam controller and this is going to be s-tier unless there is a major manufacturing flaw. The original controller was just a novelty to me until I really used it, then I lamented not being able to buy more since they were already discontinued.I'm going to humble myself with picrel now.
>>738412087most of the genres I play work better with M&K, but I already have a desk job where I sit on a chair for 8 hours per day so sometimes I just really don't feel like spending even more hours in a chair and would rather sit on the couch or lie in bed or something the steamdeck is pretty nice for that since M&K games still work reasonably well on it, so I expect the same from the steam controller
>>738409065You're jealous.

>>738408901>I NEED TO CONSUME!!!! GIVE ME THE NEWEST PRODUCT(TM)!!! I NEED IT NOW!!! I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TEN OTHER DEVICES THAT SERVE THE EXACT SAME FUNCTION!!!! TAKE MY FUCKING MONEY!!!
>>738412036Bluetooth is a security vulnerability, always use wired connection, anon.>Also, the joysticks are known to go bad, as well as buttons being fucked up.This is untrue, unless you abuse your controller by dropping / throwing it. Both the analog sticks and buttons on the DualSense are top quality made.
>>738413372>t.
>>738412474>m+kb is superior for on-foot FPS/TPS, RTS, and top-down Diablo-esque ARPG.It's not "superior" it is "easier". Playing such games with a controller simply requires higher skill level, it is a skill level that PC players will never be able to reach, just because they always try and look for the easiest way to play a game. It's funny, since they're the ones who clubbed the term "Play Hard, Go Pro" during the Counter-Strike 1.6 era, and yet they play those games on Easy Mode (I'm just here for the story) difficulty by using Mouse and Keyboard, kekaroo.
>>738413721Ok, nerd. I see auto-aim got to your head.

>>738413372>EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TEN OTHER DEVICES THAT SERVE THE EXACT SAME FUNCTIONI don’t have any controllers with trackpads. I only have a steam deck I’ve been patiently waiting for a controller version of.
