It's fucking long

Would be less, but I'm dumb, and sometimes I get stuck during puzzles
And the big part of the game is exploring and figuring out how to reach places so it's a big puzzle

I kind of want to play this, mostly because it seems like DMC3 and Tales of Vesperia and Link to the Past and I love all of those. There doesn't seem to be much discussion about whether the combat is fun, just a lot of WOW COOL GRAFIX.

It is and it got enough variety for a game this long in my opinion

I didn't unlock a lot of cambat abilities yet, but it looks promising. All enemies have their unique style of fighting so sometimes you have change strategies. Also you have that skill tree where you can switch between types of skills.

I just unlocked flame element and it turns out that it has another skill tree giving you more ways of fighting and there are 4 elements so I guess I'm going to play this game for much longer

I kind of wish I had a CRT monitor for games like these

Combat's fairly basic, but executed well for what it is. You have a 3 step melee combo, twin stick projectiles, and a slew of arts (70ish? Most are good) to spend SP on. Most enemies have a defensive gimmick that prevents mindless mashing until you stun them with a ricochet projectile, parry, element, environmental hazard, etc. If the combat clicks for you, there's an extensive endgame arena to grind ranks on that'll keep you busy for awhile.

It's good to get that confirmation. It looked close enough to DMC3 that I assumed the combat was good, but it helps to hear about the combat from someone who's played it.

I think it was like 60 hours for my original run, yeah.

Great game, but I got filtered by the last puzzle and I refuse to turn on puzzle easymode. How do I beat it without spending an entire day dedicated to the one puzzle?

You have Melee, Shoot, Dash and Shield.
Each of these have 5 elements and each element has 3 levels.
4x5x3.
It's fast and the controls are so responsive I didn't believe it was their first game *chef's kill*.

hello
it's literally one of the greatest games I ever played and I have it as my personal favorite
also 13 hours is nothing, it's 60 hours long, 40 hours if you bumrush the main story, plus it's mandatory to spend additional 20 for ng+ with hax for countless fun dialogue
so take your time, and remember to forget about the main story when you get to the arena

It's pretty good. You have to make use of all the mechanics, with different enemies asking for different approaches, so it never becomes too mashy and mindless.
Combat is only half the game though. The other half is the puzzles. They're really good too, way more involved than most Zelda puzzle rooms, but I imagine some people won't like how many puzzles there are.
