The main thing that bothers me is the lack of space to walk. You'd barely fit trying to get from the kitchen to the stools. Navigation definitely wouldn't be comfy.
The furniture itself doesn't seem that comfy either. Everything looks cold, sterile, and cheap That's not a couch you can throw yourself down on or sink into. That's the kind of couch you get as an obligation for guests, not one you actually use for TV watching or gaming. And this person certainly isn't going to be able to fit guests.
>>
I live alone in four bedroom house. Only use one of the rooms though. At night it's spooky. Sometimes I hear sounds.

Presumably there's a big window behind the person taking the picture, and plenty of plants do just fine indoors with low natural light.
Ivy, ferns, philodendrons, orchids. Pretty much any plants that evolved to live on forest/jungle floors.
Just need to keep them misted every day or two and make sure the soil is kept damp.

This one bothers me. I think it's all the shelves above the computer loaded with a bunch of empty vases and what not. It's probably supposed to be decorative, but it seems way too cluttered for that purpose.
Then I start looking at the rest of our and it seems like that's the case elsewhere too, like the books with candles on them. Clearly neither of those items are actually being used.

The desk should be where the TV stand is, and the bed should be turned 90 degrees so your head is facing the window so sunlight can wake you up. Then move the TV stand to where the desk is, throw away the useless faggot coffee table, and place the chair a comfortable distance from the TV.

No adult should ever be eating or drinking things at anything besides a designated dining table or the bar area. Grow up. You don't need to constantly be shoving liquids and cheetos I to your goy hole.

>What's caused insurance to soar in California
I'm from North Jersey, not Cali. But its an overall trend all over the country that insurance rates are skyrocketing and now they require things they never did before, like they won't insure us unless all the tenants have renter's insurance. Also one of our properties is in a flood zone which doesn't help (literally 4 feet of water in the basement after Hurricane Sandy).

I think it really started with that Condo collapse in Florida a few years ago. Insurance companies all over the US got VERY nervous and have been raising rates.

reposting my post since we're multiboarding threads today

remove coffee bar, waste of precious space.
remove couch, waste of precious space. we don't host parties here. TV and PC monitor need to be the same facing side of the room.
unless there's a cat living here we don't need a permanent bed. replace with japanese style floor mats we can pick up and store easily. the entire TV and couch area we're getting rid of as well, the TV is much too large for our needs. We'll be using the desk to mount our TV and it will be used as a second monitor. Now that we have space to move around we can perform martial arts and stay happy and fit and sane while living in such a small space cut off from all human interaction. Also we'll be using a webcam mounted on the computer monitor to live action shitpost on the internet any and all platforms.

>Have things really gotten this bad?
Rent has been like $350/week for just your own bedroom in a share-house level of bad since covid, and its only getting worse.
Story made the news a few months back when a girl went for a house viewing and the landlord said "So you'll be hotbunking your bed with this guy..." when she was shown the room she was renting.
And boomers cracked down on laws with sleeping in your car, so you cant even do picrel anymore.

It takes average 6 months of searching and going to house viewings now and hotels are impossibly expensive thanks to Chinese tourists.
So people are just shit out of luck or moving out of town if they lose their rental.
Govt and the Media keep blamining young people for "not wanting to apply for jobs" when really there's just nowhere to fucking live.

Most of my RL friends have had to move house every 3-6 months and spend prob 1/4 of the time living in hostels at $60/night.
I've been pretty lucky and had like the one stable landlord in my town that isn't converting to an Airbnb.
Domestic tourism is dead, prices are through the roof because everyone's collecting fat $$$$ from the Chinese.

Not him, but that's only $760. There are probably a lot of necessary expenditures in top of rent. Utilities probably aren't included with rent that low. Off the top of my head: electricity, water, gas, and internet, phone, whatever he uses for transportation... estimating by my own costs (excluding transportation) that could be taking out another $400, leaving $360. After buying a month's worth of food he'd be left with almost nothing.

there are literally people with almost identical studio apartments to that pic, nothing uncanney besides the lack of stovetop
>>
>>738425861
Here in NYC they've pretty much outlawed Air BnB except for renting out rooms in the home you actually live in. Space is at a premium, and no one is willing to change the rent control laws that keep turnover incredibly low, and when a house is torn down they usually build apartments there so there's very little to be owned.

No, he's right. Your image shows zones that are already well established. Every square inch of open land in suburban areas across the US is getting bought up to build shitty "luxury" apartments to accommodate the endless wave of jeets and because the housing market is completely fucked. Houses that go on the market are also largely getting bought up by real estate investment firms to get rented out. Home ownership is being made completely unfeasible for most people now.

>better relationship with your parents, less strain on it by living in the same place
>less stress from feeling the "should I/shouldn't I" moving out
>you'll never worry about women rejecting/judging you for not having your own place
>you have full control over what goes on in your apartment

Luckily, they do offer different color options for the chassis (this is actually a replacement I got a few months ago; the one I ordered with the board is standard IBM beige/tan). I just wanted something snazzier.
>if id be able to switch out caps at least id buy one almost instantly
That is the one bummer - you're stuck with the Model F/M keycap mount style, and only a couple companies (Unicomp and modelfkeyboards) make new ones. The latter's are very high quality though, rivaling the sharp print of vintage Model F XT keycaps, with the tradeoff that there aren't as many color or print options as Unicomp's (a couple keys on mine, like the Windows 95 style Start and Menu keys, come from Unicomp for this reason).

My father (also gen x), 10 years ago, sold the three houses we had (one bought by my mother side grandparents as wedding gift, two inherited by aunts and that we were renting, making enough to live without working), forced the family to move to UK and wasted the every single € in less than 5 years. We live in a rental btw, never bought a house here, the one time we tried my parents wanted me to put my name on the lease and pay 1/3 of the total, thankfully they told us we're too poor and didn't approve the lease
4 or so years ago he bought an Alpine A110 for £50k or so, which he later sold for £30k to buy a £70k Lotus Exige, he has less than £20 in his bank account and probably expects me to cover for him when eventually he won't be able to pay for it
I'm 29 and with less than £10k in my bank account and wondering if I should just throw them all away before he can get his hands on it, it's not like I'll ever be able to have a house anyway

Italian, my father forced us to move to uk
The situation isn't really any better though. I wish I could go back to Italy and try to patch what little of my shitty life is left, but I feel it's too late, and even if it weren't I'm forced to work in the family buiseness

I used to be worse than this. If I had evidence I wouldn't show you.

Same but now my hovel looks like Raiden's room minus the nagging cunt asking about the calendar.

Living on your own is shit guys, it's boring. If you're under 30 you guys should be doing house shares or flat shares, go meet some people your own age and make some friends. I'm late 30s now but that's my advice.
>>
>>738436463
Genuinely why the fuck would you do that? I can't say I know if the QoL wherever you guys were in Italy is better/worse than wherever you went in the UK, but losing three homes for owning no property just sounds insane to me, and its not like 2016 Italy was particularly lacking in technology or whatever.

Thats everywhere now. It's either an apartment with the shittiest layout legally allowed to squeeze in as many renters as possible. Or some stupid small cuckshed with no privacy while pretending that it's a single family home.

CEOs are an employee that works for the board of directors that actually make the decisions about how a company should operate and its goals. If you had more than 90iq you would be able to figure this out, and why talking about 'murdering CEO's' makes you look like the dumb fuck bumbling peasant you are.

Why are japanese so allergic to elevated furniture?
>>
>>738440174
They do use western furniture on bigger and more modern houses. That still have the traditional tatami mattresses that need to be easily lifted for cleaning.

tatami is actually pretty comfy once you get used to it, and their social/house culture basically involves laying around reclining on the floor all the time with a TV on in the background.
shit's awful for gaming though, I once lived in one Japanese apartment that was tatami and no strictly western furniture allowed, i always had wrist/shoulder cramps laying on the floor with a mouse and keyboard
