At this point? Let it die. No one understands classic Halo.
Also, friendly reminder that this is a real thing in real life.
>>
Have a coherent and engaging story
>Cortana has gone crazy! You have to stop her Chief!
>Actually she died offscreen and Chief gets a clone to replace her
>We're going to war for realsies with the Banished! You didn't play Halo Wars 2 and don't know who they are? Fuck you!
>This Atriox guy means business! Oh wait he "dies" in the first minute in a cutscene
>That whole AI-human conflict? Yeah that's happening offscreen
>The flood? Yeah they're still out there in these tie-in short stories we release periodically on our website
What the fuck is going on in the story department with Halo? That used to be their strong point.
>>
>>738414539
I'd go back in time
>>
>>738414539
I'd fire the entire studio and hold interviews where I ask every single nigger about the lore, what their favorite game is and what they'd do to halo if they had the power to change it. if I got a single whiff of dei faggotry I'd blacklist the fucking resume
>>
>>738414539
It would be helpful if they actually used the stories from the fucking books in the games.
And why must Halo be confined to just one genre?
>>
>>738414539
remove sprint
remove mantling
no power weapons on spawn, place them around the map so players fight over them
>>
>>738419905
>You didn't play Halo Wars 2 and don't know who they are? Fuck you!

And on the flip side
>You DID play Halo Wars 2 and are wondering how Atriox got off the Ark and what happened to the plot line with the Spirit of Fire there, and Anders on the other Halo Ring? Fuck you too!
>>
>>738414539
Just kill it.
>>

>And why must Halo be confined to just one genre?
because halo wars was kind of buns and sold poorly. I wouldn't mind halo getting an xcom-like how Gears got Tactics though.
>>
Cancel Halo 1 remake. Start it again but this time make everything from scratch. No lazy asset flips, no unreal engine 5, no halo reach enemy AI. Include multiplayer. Make sure the game is fucking functional at launch and not missing content. Don’t be greedy Jews when it comes to pricing.

They know the solution. They tried it with halo infinite but the dumbasses fucked up by releasing a broken game that took forever to get fixed and receive content, and then charged up the ass for some the ugliest cosmetics ever.
>>
>>738414539
Step 1) WE'RE ADDING ADVANCED AI!
Step 2) Just use the halo 1/2 RTS AI thing
Step 3) Profit because people will actually pay attention and see that the characters do all sorts of fancy shit

>4 years later, the next halo installment is halo 1 again…
Jesus Christ, why would I ever pay attention to the shitty stories they put out if they never finish them?

Why did people hate Halo infinite? The online MP seemed pretty good to me. I got really focused on real life stuff after the first month and then it just died.

People didn't like the single player which I get but the online aspect seemed to nail to BTB and 4v4 modes.
>>
>>738421198
>online aspect seemed to nail to BTB
You mean the BTB that was completely non-functional for a month?
>>
>>738420218
The games sell even worse if they don't make them. In fact, if they don't make anything at all the series just dies.
>>
>>738421198
A big one for me was they dicked over Australian players really hard, and they went about the MnK/Controller aim assist situation in the most retarded way possible, especially bad because they had the MCC PC port to use for reference.
In regards to the game for all players though, the desync issues were pretty bad, at least at launch. The lack of gamemodes was really bad, I think the worst we've ever had in actual online (since CE only had LAN) and the maps were a little bland as well.
>seemed to nail BTB
The random vehicles in BTB was fucked.
>>
>>738421609
>The games sell even worse if they don't make them.
untrue, selling 0 copies of a game you didn't make is better than underselling a game you made for 10s of millions of dollars.
>>
>>738421198
Everyone having their own custom armor instead of being a part of Red or Blue team distracted from the visual feedback
>>
>>738421198
The actual main reason was that the game was buggy as shit on launch. The devs promised they’d fix it but their spaghetti code engine made it impossible to. It also meant that we rarely ever got new content in a supposedly live service game. Add to this the horrifically greedy store prices and people eventually just gave up on it. Oh, and the fucktards repeated their same mistake of releasing split screen co-op and forge a year after release after everyone had already left. For all its flaws the game itself is actually very fun. But its potential was squandered by the incompetent devs.
>>
who actually cares about split screen though? it's not 2007 anymore

>>
>>738414539
I don't. There are too many games that do different things at this point and nobody will ever agree on anything. Just make Blam open source.
>>
>>738425113
Most halo games are actually very similar. It’s just sprint fags who have melties if you dare say you enjoyed the advanced mobility of 5 and 6.
>>
>>738425287
360 fags think that, because they haven't actually played the earlier games enough to understand why someone would prefer them.
>>
>>738425394
Cope. I’ve played them all several times from the moment Halo CE released.

You didn't pick your region in-game, it just put you on the Microsoft servers available to you. That should be fine, there are servers all over the world, including Australia.
Given Australia's low population, queue times can be longer in many games. That's fine, and just something you accept given the circumstances. The problem is that Infinites matchmaking would always try to put you in a game in under a minute, and that typically meant you had a player from somewhere else, usually America. For whatever reason, the game was setup so even 1 American in a lobby with 7 Australians would put you on US servers, which was 300+ ping for me.
People found out you could edit a text file on your desktop to block specific Microsoft servers, so they forced the game to only connect to the Australian ones. 343 then called them 'bad actors' for wanting to play with double digit ping and despite being slow as fuck with everything else, they patched that method in record time.
>>
>>738420476
This, I don't think 343 has been able to properly finish any narrative they've started. They change course every fucking time and get rid of the old plot they built up.
Like, Spartan Ops that went on for like 10 episodes, ended with the Janus Key plot device and Halsey siding with Jul M'dama, had the former thrown out to be forgotten in some random comic (because Halsey made a Forerunner AI angry and it took the keys away), and the latter had to be rapidly undone in mission 1 of H5 so Halsey could be back ASAP for their evil Cortana plot.
>>
>>738414539
You can't, it's over, when Infinite failed and Phil Spencer lost the Xbox, Halo died. Halo will now be outsourced to others while being led by Halo Studios. It's nothing more than a product now to Microsoft, already prepared for 2030 when Microsoft kills Xbox for good. Halo was switched to Unreal Engine so Microsoft can keep shitting out games nonstop on Steam, PlayStation, and Switch. If you haven't already moved on by this point, you're retarded.

This is just a guess, but I'm assuming every single one of their future plans for hinged very heavily on Cortana being a huge faction leader in the ongoing war after Halo 5, but because everyone fucking despised that story, they had to quickly scrap it all and start from scratch.

Unfortunately for them, starting a brand new story this deep into Master Chief's tale means having to actually write something compelling, and modern day writers can't write for shit.
>>
>>738414539
revert back to halo reach. done.
>>
>>738428225
They should have stuck with it. People would’ve gotten over it eventually if the gameplay was good and it’s not like a crazy sentient AI as an enemy leader is a bad concept.
>>
Honestly I thought Infinite's multiplayer was great.

They just needed to launch it with Forge and ideally other refinements that instead took them like 6 months after launch to release, and for them to not give up on supporting it with new MP storyline content and additional weapons right when they got into the swing of putting out regular updates for it.

I guess I would have dropped sprint and kept thrust instead as a core player ability, though

As far as the campaigns, story, and lore, I'm not really sure it's salvagable. I like some of 343's lore, actually, the Forerunner trilogy is amazing, but they've really done a lot of damage to the state of the universe over time and keep introducing big new galactic threats every few years that the UNSC constantly manages to beat and survive over and over because they're terrified of changing the status quo. They should have taken a 40k esque approach where the galaxy has multiple competing factions that stick around that have situational alliances and conflicts at lower scales/stakes rather then having the entire universe at stake and introducing and throwing out new enemies/factions every time you need a new game/book

>>738421198
see above

>>738419905
>>738428225
>>738426190
it's absolutely partially the fault of them overreacting to criticism and throwing the baby out of the bathwater and abandoning narrative plans every time their new entry gets flak

>Halo 4, especially Spartan Ops, gets criticism, so rather then continuing the plotline they intended with the Didact and the Janus key from Spartan Ops and the comics, they kill the didact off in the comics and kill Jul in the opening scene of Halo 5
>After Halo 5's story also got shit, instead of following up on it's cliffhanger, Infinite kills off Cortana in the timeskip between games and the entire plot is finding out what happens to her
>Now new comics/novels are setting up the flood to come back, potentially instead of the Endless like Infinite was setting up
>>
>>738427915
No, we don't, series was over the moment Doom (2016) changed the game. Infinite could have been the game that gave it a place but as a said here >>738427015, it's over. They can't nor will they recover. If you're playing Halo, at this point, you're playing it for the name, but it's finally evolved into a pure zombie franchise now. Nothing is changing now, at all.

You don't feel something like base H4 is quite different on a core design level to H2 or 3?
