>Star Fox 64 is a reboot of the NES Star Fox

It's another remake of the first reboot
>>
>>738415851
starfox wasn't on NES
and 64 wasn't a reboot or remake, it was an entirely new game
get better bait

64 was a reboot. The first game and Star Fox 2 never happened, 64 was the start of a new continuity that lasted up to Command

I don't see the point in people saying 64 is a reboot of the snes original. The two games are literally nothing alike other than they're on rails (or at least 64 is mostly on rails) and 64 reuses the same story and some bosses. The two games are completely different otherwise, all of the levels are 100% different, the music is 100% different, it's like saying Super Mario 3 is a reboot of Mario 1

>franchise about group of mercenaries having their own ship fleet and having comfy space missions commissioned thorugh the years
>stuck on the same 15 missions for decades now
being a starfox member must be closer to existential horror for those poor animals.

As far as stories are concerned, it's a reboot.

>Nintendo does interviews and tells everyone that 64 was made with the intention of it being a remake that incorporates elements from the scrapped Star Fox 2

Do they? As a kid I just saw it as a sequel. Again, do you look at Mario 3 and say, "hey that's a remake of Mario 1"? I think I'm just trying to figure out what people mean when they say we've had the same game 5 times in a row, because I don't think anyone would play SNES Star Fox and then 64 and think they were supposed to be the same game.

Star Fox is an odd franchise. Star Fox 64 was a soft reboot of the first two Star Fox games. This includes the cancelled Star Fox 2. It takes Star Wolf from Star Fox 2... uses more or less the same three tier path from the first game. But is different enough to be an original title. It was remade for the 3DS, or 'remastered'. Zero was a fresh reboot, it even says so in the name: It was meant to be a fresh start for the franchise on the Wii-U and going forward. This Star Fox is a strange re-imagining of Star Fox 64. It still has some recognizable stages and bosses from that game. But it is like the devs were really bog fans of "A Fox in Space" fan animated series and decided to model the story narrative after that. Was I the only that thought of the "A Fox in Space" animated episodes when watching the trailer?

>wasn't a reboot
So 64 was about a completely separate first venom rebellion, gotcha

That's like saying every Zelda game is a reboot of every other Zelda game.

These are the people complaining about story in a 50 minute game.

Why can't they get this character off the ground?
