New players who die horribly from being lobotomized by a spike trap are still going to do that regardless of whether they choose the 50% trap density option or the 250% option. Most of the game's difficulty is in its mechanics which isn't easy to just change.Also there are supposed to be like 4 zillion layers in the final version so it makes sense to tone down some of the earlier stuff anyway.
