Smaller than I expected in my handFeels nice to holdCompared to the Ultimate 2 + Pro3
>>738425795god damn that led is brighttell me there's a way to turn that off. i feel like that'd be blinding if you tried playing in the dark
>>738425795Why does nobody ever talk about how it is to use? Use it then make a post.
why are all recent controllers so fat? they need to go back to DS4
>>738425969I think its for tracking with Steam Frame once its out tm
>>738426457Dualshocks are for baby hand japs
>>738426417it's alrightfeels nicethe stick clicks are satisfying, sticks are smooth, not as smooth as the switch 2 pro thoi might actually use the back buttons because they sit nicely below your fingers tips on the gripsdpad feels better than the steamdeck'strackpads location is goodI AM annoyed that my playnite controls a bit wonky, i assume that it's using desktop mode instead of controller mode for that app insteadso it might be steam big picture mode for me
>>738426417>Why does nobody ever talk about how it is to use?It is the most comfortable controller I have ever used. But for me to say that when my previous favourite controller was the Xbox Duke that most people hate probably means it is going to be divisive.
>>738426457they are packing a lot of tech now and ds4 battery is pathetic
>>738427274I only hate the duke for the placement of the black and white buttons. The rest was fine.
>>738425795Now turn off steam and tell us what works and what doesn't. Anything that uses SDL3 should work.
>>738427393someone needs to experiment with 6 face buttons again
>>738425969>>738426487The tracking is infrared so you wouldn't see it. There's a setting in steam to turn that visible light down.
>>738425795Well, yeah, anyone who owns a deck knew that it wasn't as big as it looksCan't believe people would start talking shit without doing any basic research; how weird, the internet isn't like that usually
>>738427463Vader controller
>>738426417Probably because it feels just like a Deck.
Now to wait for steam pro controller to be made
>>738427463
>>738427696Literally this. If you've played on deck, you've basically already used an sc, and someone could hand you an sc, you'd immediately get it.Only difference for most is better sticks and grip sense
>>738427463We need a no face button and no dpad controller you mean. Otherwise you get this monstrosity. No reason a company haven't been brave enough to put 16+ easily reachable buttons on the back where your fingers are actually are and replace l1r1 with scroll wheels. Now that's innovation
>>738427696> it feels just like a Deck.Has anyone confirmed this with 'ick on 'ontroller?
>>738425795I got big hands, the Series X and DS5 are small in my hands and doesn't grip like the 360 did. Would you recommend the Steam controller or any other?
>>738427696I have never used a steam deck
>>738428558Do you grip the handles or kind of let the controller rest on top of your hands. If the latter the Steam Controller is very comfortable.
>>738428615It's basically a thicker Nintendo Pro Controller which is a rebranded Xbox controller.
>>738425969Have you never used a controller with Steam? There are settings.
>>738428657I let the controller naturally fit into my hand. If I fully grip/palm grip the DS5 or Series X my fingers overextend. I have to use my fingers to hold the controller. Meaning using the controller is resting in the middle of my fingers instead of my palm.
>>738426417Everyone has a Deck. This is at least as good, which is very good.
>>738428684>a thicker Nintendo Pro ControllerThe Switch 1 pro controller is the worst controller I ever used, see >>738428657. The battey pack juts out and forces you to take a weird grip to not touch it. It is made for Japanese hands and expects you to grip the handles which a man with normal sized hands will find uncomfortable. Maybe the Switch 2 one is better I have never seen one. The only Japanese company that makes non Japanese sized controllers is Hori.
>>738428775You will probably find the Steam controller comfy. And if you don't you can sell it for a 3x to scalpers.
>>738427447If you aren’t using Steam Input, you are missing the point of the controller.
>>738427020so is the dpad a piece of shit like deck or not
>>738425795Are the screw holes on the grips noticeable at all? I imagine my fingers would be sitting right on them during use.
>>738428952no one asked that, retard
>>738429034I've heard people say its better than deck, but also not the mythical standard fighters seek
>>738427447I heard it's detected as a keyboard, so it should be fine. I assume a FOSS tool is already being made to use it without steam and fake it as an xbox or DS5
>>738427463As someone who has played a ton of Saturn games, I can tell you this is pointless. Just use R4 & R5.
>>738428102Your other fingers are more given to fatigue than your thumbs.
>>738428952I know. I just want to set the record straight with the retards that keep doomposting.
>>738425795they havent even fucking shipped mine and i ordered it 30 min after orders were available
>>738429153On Linux the kernel exposes a driver. Whenever any program attaches to that driver, Lizard mode gets turned off and the controller acts as a normal controller. At least that's how the OG controller worked.
I keep hitting the back buttons by accident. I knew this would happen
>>738429454its overdogshit controller
>>738429034It’s larger and Valve designed it alongside members of the fighting game community. Anyone who doesn’t like it probably just has a personal preference that isn’t being met, as opposed to the dpad being of poor quality.
>>738429454That is good to hear. I needed to mod my Deck so the back buttons were easier to press. I prefer to use them instead of face buttons in most games. You’ll stop accidentally pressing them after 70-100 hours.
>>738429423>On LinuxBut what about winbloat? I assume MS will make it hard for Steam.
>>738429708To get a driver to windows you need to pay microsoft. Understandable why that didn't happen.I don't know how well it works there without Steam, which is why I'm asking you guys.
Its JANKY af on Xbox mode / FSE
I got my order in early but I think I'm fucked until next week. How is the Dpad on this thing?
>>738431242I mean its not the worst per seBut definitely far from the best
>>738425795>>738427020Any chance you could test Tomb Raider Remastered for me? It's virtually unplayable on the Deck due to diagonals on the d-pads having too much of a deadzone and stopping Lara's movement if you try to go left/right while running forward
>>738425795How is the noise? Are the controller button clicks or silentI like my Dualsense because it's very silent I don't like noise

If you don't have a use for touchpads, gyro, or Steam Input, don't get it.If you do have a use for touchpads, gyro, or Steam Input, it's the only thing to get.Simple as.

Do yourself a favor and stop buying overpriced first party controllers
>>738440417not quite the level but very close to mouse and keyboard if you ask me
>>738440089Gyro is OBJECTIVELY Better than just sticks for shooters. Even if you mean a non shooter like zelda, gyro to mouse makes bow aiming cakePads are EXTREMELY versatile, they can be a mouse, joystick, between 1 and 16 mini buttons, weapon wheels, mouse region, ect. Its versatility is its real secret sauce.>>738440417Its BASICALLY a fucking light gun. Ever played that old area 51 shooter arcade or anything like it? Its close. If its gyro to mouse, it turns As fast and accurate as you, and feels like aiming a gun. Top tier for shooting on a controller, and many including myself think its more fun than mouse

>>738440707Did you ever use it?
>>738440561>>738440576Nice, thought it would just be something between regular controller and a mouse
>>738440561I'd say its absolutely competitive with mouse but heres pros and cons.Mouse pros:Everyone uses it and knows itExtremely high precision since friction of desk keeps mouse in place Less likely for little movements to throw you offCONSfriction (slightly) slows response compared to gyroDesk space limited, must lift and reset mouseGyro pros:Much more reactive, takes your natural motor movement the same as aiming a gunCombine with pad and stick, and you NEVER have "dead" time of lifting your mouse to reset.Feels fucking coolMore muscles involved in aim allows greater range, fingers, palms, wrists, arms, all effect it, so you can do anything from sniping to jerking snap shots CONS:More jerky, prone to all movement errors you have, including throbbing, tremors, twitches, even a racing heartbeat maybe.Probably less friendly to crippled people, depending on settings Has a learning curve compared to mouse you were born using. This all said, I think you can absolutely achieve identical or better results with shit like flickstick and gyro
>>738440801Nah
>>738440880Nta, but I use it regularly for lotsInstant 7 key weapon swap for shit like doom in mode shift. Basically normally right pad is mouse aim, but if I click in, it turns to a 7 key menu with all my gun binds. So with a simple click with the Same pad i aim with, i can swap to pistol, rocket, shotgun, chain gun, chainsaw, bfg, all quicker than the swap animation itself Left pad is great for a ton of misc shit. Save, load, obscure binds, whatever. Basically think of any game you can almost play on ctrl but there's a few keys you need on keyboard, shove em there if you rarely need em
>>738436869The latter.
>>738440801i use it all the time in my steam deck
>>738435731Nigger. Idiot. Faggot. Retard. Kill yourself.
>>738440959i cant fucking use flickstick for the life of me. maybe because i play games with verticality that i struggle to point it upwards since flickstick only moves horizontally. i end up using right stick with high sens for fast camera movement instead

>>738443646No one
>>738425969Put tape over it. I've been doing that for years with my Xbox controller and my Steam Deck. I switched to red seethrough tape so I can still see the light but black works fine as well.
How to make steam controller work with Playnite?
>>738443397Are you using ONLY flickstick? Or with gyro? EVEN without a pad, you can set a mode shift on a spare button to fuckindg swap between flickstick and Normal joystick, OR, flickstick, pad, and gyro, so you have 3 different mouse inputs you can swap at any time

Your shit Steam controller requires me to add non-Steam games from Origin, Rockstar, Blizzard, Bethesda, GOG, Epic launchers to Steam to use their shit controller. Same thing with pirated games. Lmfao. You guys are really retarded for buying such a shit product.... and paying MORE than better controllers. The better controllers also have a higher resale value down the line because you can sell them used to console players later on.I used to think Jews were overly mean by calling you goyim/cattle, but come to think of it, they were 100% right. You just can't NOT be a goy and at the same time have the Steam controller in your purchasing history. You. Just. Can't.
>>738454932I expected it to be no different from a GameSaar or PowerA controller. To limit its functionality to one specific piece of software, nevermind a specific OS, is retarded. But I guess e-waste is cool when Valve does it.
>>738456160PS5 is not plug and play on PC. It depends wholly on the game whether it has support. Sometime you need DS4Windows to get it to work with XInput.
Xinput isn't hard to implement or emulate outside Steam, what's hard is to justify appealing to a loud fairly brown minority of people who somehow love Windows but hate DRM, cannot run steam in the background without it taking a lot of resources on their ghetto shit but will gladly spend 100 bucks on a controller, or buy a controller with 20 billion features just to use the standard ones they already can use with their current controllers apparently. Given it's easier these days to just use a different OS it actually seems more reasonable to lose a couple of sales or just push these users out of Windows eventually.
>>738456160I'm needing to use Steam Input to play a very old game with my Dualsense on PC now. And by Steam Input, I mean using a custom control scheme because the controller only works for this game if it's simulating being a keyboard. The Steam Controller is the exact same and Steam Input is really good. That being said, I think the Steam Controller is still completely and utterly pointless for desk gaming.
>>738425795>symmetrical sticks
>>738456160The dualsense is not plug and play in the sense that it only works (partially wirelessly, it doesn't even support half the features unless wired) with games that support sony's API. It doesn't use xinput. It does -not- work with xinput only games out of the box at all. I had quite the experience with trying shit on xbox game pass to find out I could not use my dualsense without installing ViGEmBus and DS4Windows.I wouldn't expect it to work there either at all. >>738457020I could see it being nice for wii emulation but what really is the use case?
>>738457195I guess the idea is plugging wired headphones to it
>>738457294Yeah that would be nice
>>738457195>>738457294Yeah you plug in wired headphones for late night vidya so you don't wake up your family members or disturb the neighbours. Bluetooth was never intended for audio streaming even though it sort of works after many years of hacks and trickery, but it's still very high latency and a shared connection for audio and inputs is even worse.
I think it's lost on /v/ that this is supposed to be a comfy couch gaming controller for your PC/Steam Machine.
>>738457698Eh I'm always on headphones and I'd rather plug them to a proper DAC/AMP than a fucking controller over bluetooth to be quite honestKinda weird though it doesn't have an output because it's not like audio cannot be transmitted over
>>738457774Wireless audio comes in handy for couch gaming, my PC is connected to both my monitor and my TV, which is quite far away.I have 8" studio monitors and an audio interface that works as an amp for my headphones, the TV speakers are my old 5" studio monitors.
>>738425795has 8bitdo's quality control gotten better over the years or it still a lottery every time you by one of their gamepads? i bought an sn pro plus or whatever that piece of shit was called and the micro usb port died in less than a year so i couldnt charge it anymore, similar thing happened to a friend of mine who also bought one, though the problem he had wasnt quite the same, i think it just died after a year or so if i recall
>ordered at 6:01 using steam wallet >took till 11pm Wednesday to package it>it's still not dispatched Fuck you too valve.
>>738454794When anons say this do they mean that it's useless without Steam or that you always have to run games through Steam's launcher? My Dualsense works with everything (hentai games, mostly) as long as Steam is open but I don't have to run games through Steam, it just does the xinput conversion in the background. Would the Steam Controller be different?
>>738456814>Phenom II x4NTA but it's a matter of principle. I'm autistic when it comes to the efficiency of my machines, meaning that I want every last ounce of performance from my PC. I don't want Steam using up RAM or CPU real estate if I'm not browsing my wishlist or checking the store for sales, so I most definitely wouldn't want Steam open to just to use a fucking controller. My OEM Xbox controller works perfectly fine without any additional software.
>>738458190hope your controller is in a dumpster somewhere you dumb horse fucker

>>738456814Why should I upgrade hardware just to run some bloated software more efficiently? I'll just stop using said bloated software and solve my problem instantly. I'm literally not gonna spend a single cent so these scumbags can run some flashy ads on their store/home page and have some "live stream" showing up on that same page without anyone asking. Or collecting my gaming data in the background so they can tie my FPS to my reviews, as they are currently implementing. If your answer to a shit company becoming shittier by the day with their shit practices is "hurrr just buy a better PC LmAo" then I think your brain has already been "steamed" beyond recognition.
>>738458136Nope.
>>738458632Because you wouldn't have the hardware to play games released 10 years ago if you couldn't handle this client running in the background. This shit runs fine in the background on an anemic APU tied to a PC handheld but your computer somehow struggles with it. It is reasonable to believe that you'd have to save for 5 months to buy this fucking controller, which means you won't buy it anyways, you just want to contribute to the astroturfing.Get the fuck out of my sight
>>738458196Without Steam running in the background, the controller only functions as a limited mouse and keyboard. If you want to use it with a GOG or EGS game, you need to launch them through Steam. It doesn't use X or D input, but just Steam Input. This is something you'd expect from Apple, but because Valve designed it, it's "based".
>>738459713Not worried about GOG or EGS. But does it still do the background conversions for non-launcher games? Outside of Steam, I mostly use gamepads for emulators and hentai that are just apps that launch without some stupid launcher. Will they need to be imported to Steam for this controller to work on them?
>steam controller has always online drmDefend this.
>>738460402You can use Steam offline retard.
>>738459713Even worse than that. Xbox controllers work wired or Bluetooth to andriod devices and support any game that has controller support like genshin or whatever. The Steam controller doesn't work out of box for android wired or wireless.Steamies are so far up gabe's ass they can't see this controller is gimped even outside of the Microsoft ecosystem. And they'll never admit: purposefully removing a standard feature from your controller whoose only purpose is to ensure basic out of box compatibility withan operating system that 93% of your users use everyday. A feature that Japanese console manufacturers use, one that even the smallest Chinese manufacturer of a controller from a province you never heard use.Taking that away is anti consumer. Removing options that limits the use cases of the secure. Not even saying "sure xinput sucks but here's this steam controller driver so you can use YOUR controller with apps on YOUR pc how you want to. (you know how 99% of controllers made for pc has been).Nope instead run YOUR apps from YOUR PC through OUR store. It's strong arming people to make steam their centralized one stop shop for literally everything on your computer. Vile anti consumer behavior. Tying hardware to steam means when steam stops working on your OS so does your controller. Fuck off.

Probably 2 or 3, before I got fed up of having to log in to my living room PC's Steam everytime and had to add GOG games like Witcher 3 to Steam and rename them in specific number IDs so I could access the user-made Steam Controller profiles in Big Picture mode. You spending your money on heavily marked up chink-made crap products because you're part of a cult doesn't make you "cool" and doesn't make you an authorative figure against people with lower income (which doesn't include me, but thanks for making that assumption as part of your rhetorical pursuits).

>>738457020No you can't. It sounds like shit
>>738461249You mean dick
>>738461227Nor the index or the original steam controller/link. Anything valve directly made (so not the HTC shit or the Alienware steam machines) has NEVER been in a traditional retail store. All the stores you can purchase Sony, Xbox and Nintendo or even meta quest 3, pc handhelds, etc. Valve chooses to not sell shit through any 3rd party retailers.Does this benefit the consumer? No of course not. But it benefits something far greater than some pesky dumbasses who want options or convenient ways to purchase valve hardware. It benefits Valve's profitability and revenue streams. If they sold at a retail store there's cost to pay for having your products take up space, setting up displays, banners, demo kiosk if you want to go crazy and give a potential buyer the most holistic view of your product. But the worst of it all is for every unit sold via a 3rd party store like target or best buy. Valve no longer gets 100% of the profits from the sale. They have to pay the stupid retailers a peice of that pie. How big? Any size is too big.So they keep everything they sale behind an online account and storefront. They're really the only people in tech where an account must be made first before you can even purchase the physical product and there's no alternatives to that (ebay doesn't count)So don't ever expect steam hardware in stores near you. We don't want to lose any money off these sales so fuck you.

>>738463090Perfectly fucking said. Valve's inability or unwillingness to even pretend to care that the biggest games on PC and console (League, Valorant, Fortnite, all the call of duty and battlefield games, etc) simply don't work on Linux. The valve fanatics are saying good riddance those games are the devil because of anti cheats. So there goes the average console normie. Just for Linux itself. The steam machine isn't going to be able to run fucking gta 6. Even if you slap windows on it (no official support from valve has been announced just like how deck could have windows installed but valve would neglect any windows users on a deck like you sinned against him and Linux. On top of that the console normies use their systems as multimedia machines so Netflix and whatnot.Linux doesn't support HDR 4k on Netflix. So there's another compromising limitation from Valve's offering. Windows and consoles do it and clearly valve doesn't give two flying fucks about what you could play where. If it don't work with SteamOS then you don't need it. Dear Leader Gaben says "steam frame doesn't need color pass though like quest headsets have black and white is perfectly fine, xinput isn't all it's cracked up to be so it's not needed Steam/OS itself will be your provider"As an idort PC gamer with a mini pc (Pic related) rog ally x and desktop with a 4090. I'm turning 33 in a couple weeks and remember a time where GFWL was this scary Microsoft program trying to monopolize pc gaming. So there was those sense of PC gaming is for the user and their operating system first and storefronts are there as a way to buy games. Freedom of choice was the name of the game. Now PC gaming is infested with valve cultist who thinks it's in their best instrest when valve removes shit that makes no sense to remove other than to inconvenience those who don't use steam religiously.

Valve literally destroyed the entire Tech philosophy of plug and play that has existed for 40 fucking years from their $100 controller. SteamOS is irrelevant to this because the majority of their own users are still on Windows. They purposefully made it so the majority of their consumers have less options on how and what they can use hardware they purchase.Resl fucking pro consumer of them! No shareholders or AI data centers to blame here. You monkeys can keep jumping through your mental gymnastics to justify this. Doesn't matter to me. I don't purchase anything that goes out of its way to make sure I goose step to how they envisioned me using it.The PC master race is being replaced by a Valve subservient race.

You get a ridiculous amount of inputs as well as good ability to aim, so you have most of the benefits of keyboard and mouse with a controller form factor. You can make use of these capabilities without the game developer explicitly supporting them. Should it be able to work with half of it's features disabled if you don't want to run the software? Maybe. Should you willingly subject yourself to a bare bones controller after paying $100 for it? No. I've been using Sony controllers (similar capability as Steam controller, but worse layout) mostly within the constraints of the Steam Controller for years and I have been much better off for it since a controller that just works doesn't work very well.

>>738465974It is special because the controller is designed to best take advantage of that software. I can do all the same things on my DS5, but the touch pad is in an inconvenient spot to use for anything but extra inputs. While that is still really useful and I'll probably end up doing the same thing on the Steam controller a lot, it is also limited compared to if I wanted to use it for mouse or movement inputs. The people who are probably not Indians or Tim are upset because they don't want to run it on principle rather than that it is unprecedented that such software exists and anyone who has used something other than an xbox controller has probably used it. The idea is that there is no reason that you shouldn't be able to use the most basic features of the controller in instances where that is all you need or a game can't be added to Steam. Presumably, Valve doesn't want to do this because they don't want to controller to be used in a mode where it is half worthless.

However, like you say, I don't have enough need for it that it would become a real practical concern rather than just something that would be nice to have. Why is everyone this giddy about a pc controller coming out? I swear you would think ps6 was out. 95% of players don't even venture beyond xinput controls, use the trackpads, gyro, or know what even steam input is. I don't get it

I was excited for the grip sensors and wanted to give my first impressions. Using the grip to enable gyro and disable it on release seems like it is going to be really useful for always on gyro games. The sensor is more towards the rear buttons, so it is easy to keep grip on the side and use the controls on the face when releasing the sensor. Should be nice for ratcheting and also to disable the mouse in menus if I just want to use the dpad. I'm undecided on binding actions to the grip sensors. I tested it out in Citadel where releasing pulled a magazine out and gripping put a new magazine in, which felt really nice, but I kept messing it up when actually trying to play and under pressure. Will probably keep going with it to see if I can get better for this and other games.Aside from that, I am really bad at track pad aiming and even though this controller should be easier, I mess up a lot switching between buttons and track pads compared to my DS5 since I'm still not use to the layout. However, the sensitivity and consistency of the track pads is far better. The DS5 would often miss swipe inputs without cranking the sensitivity up to 4-5x the Steam controller and even the DS4. One last thing I didn't realize I wanted until now is to be able to swipe and hold and input for something like leaning, which could be useful now that the track pad is in a place that would be comfortable to hold.
>>738487790Idea for you. Set the grip to enable the pause menu or the map. That way as soon as you let go of the controller, the game will be in a safe state to walk away from.
>tfw no 'ick on 'ontroller post yet
>>738487790>LeaningGyro has bindings fol leaning. You can tilt the controller left or right and it will trigger the lean action.
RESERVE YOUR CONTROLLER NOW
>>738488019I saw someone else mention that in a previous thread. Seems like a nice default if I ended up with no other use for it. I didn't think about it at the time, but I like that I can bind different things to gripping and releasing so I don't have to worry about the game instantly unpausing on picking up the controller if I used that option. >>738488176I am aware there is an option, but gyro is a really important input and I don't want to add any more complexity to it have to worry about a third axis. Then again, I also don't think I've ever given it a fair shot either. The controller has plenty of inputs either way, but it was just a thought I had when considering how I might be able to change my previous bindings. I could have also just set the trackpads as d-pad inputs, but as of now I still like swiping since it requires less precision on a controller I'm not use to.
>received one controller>other is in "Your package is running late, but it’s still on the way."How the fuck? UPS even lists them as 1 of 2 and same order.
>>738487790Heh I've also been playing the citadel with gyro. Thanks for your impressions, I didn't think the grip sensor for ratcheting would be better than the capacitive touchpad mods people do on their Dualsenses honestly (if only the dualsense sticks weren't so bad, dammit), but actually it's good? cool, maybe I'll pick one up then.
>>738489520I'll never understand snoyfaggots obsession with all this premium junk. Then again I will never understand being fatherless.

>it's weekend in yurop>still no tracking numberfuck my stupid chungus life
>>738490067back to china with you.
>>738489520Don't spend $100 just because of my thoughts after the first 30 minutes since I make no claim at being good at ratcheting or have enough experience to say that it is in fact good. However, I do think it feels better than expected and isn't as disruptive as actually letting go of the controller like I was expecting I may have to do. Just lifting my fingers away from the back of the controller seems to be enough and doesn't really hurt control aside from not being able to use the back buttons.

>>738431242No false diagonals and no bounce back for hard edge presses. So essentially perfect. You can tell >>738432181 doesn't play videogames, or at least not games that require a d-pad for primary input. There are of course subjective aspects of it. If you like a solid cross membrane d-pad then this is as good as it gets. Personally that is my favorite style. Not that I bought the Steam controller for platformers or fighters specifically. It is just a nice bonus. If you like disc style dpads or split crosses (which are false splits anyway typically, like Dualshock, visual only) or want tactile/click feedback then you'll hate it. But if you care about d-pad input you probably prefer retro standards in which case you'll love it.

>>738500868>never used steam deck, htc vive, or original steam controller beforeopinion invalidated
>>738501435what fucking opinioni'm asking unironically BECAUSE i've never used those things
>>738501613It really is a matter of having used it in the steam environment vs never having used it. The only reason I'm even hyped about steam controller 2 is because I bought steam controller 1 as a novelty and fell in love with how ingenious it was. Trackpads suck as a main joystick replacement, but as an option in addition to joystick, it is absolutely the current peak controller design. Most of us have steam decks, which has the exact same button layout and it is truly the best. Steam Controller 2 is a dualshock controller with extra buttons and track pads, simply the best. Also, if you are attempting to play any game on steam in big picture mode that is "playable" having instant mouse controls is significantly better than having to set a mod key and use the analog to move mouse. Most games that are "playable" for big picture/steam deck have launchers that require mouse input. It's bs, but it's on the devs. Trackpads solve this issue. Steam deck is better because the screen is also touchscreen.
>>738455339>it's the steam machine controlleruhhh so where is the steam machine then?
>>738503479It's called big picture mode and steamOS. You can install it already on whatever you want. Steam Deck comes preloaded with it. If you hate Windows, I recommend checking out SteamOS. I regularly consider quitting my job and contacting Valve for a job just to help them work on SteamOS to decouple gaming from windows dependence. I just really don't want to move to seattle.
is there an easy way to make gyro work well on older games? i've tried it with new games like cs2 and death stranding and it works fantastic, but when I try it with skyrim the gyro is really jank. is this just because the game is old and cant support it? can I change settings to make it work properly?
