Why is it so hard for Nintendo to just make a NEW StarFox game with classic gameplay but a different story/premise and levels? It's either Starfox 64, or something completely different that has nothing to do with spaceship dogfighting. Starfox 2 was a godamn miracle at this point.

StarFox (SNES), StarFox 64, StarFox 64 3D, StarFox Zero, and now StarFox (Switch 2) all retell the same story with mostly the same settings and levels.

The original one dipshit

Miyamoto said the Star Fox series is the one he cares most about the story of. Apparently that means trying at the exact same story over and over hoping it'll meet his standards one day. He doesn't know the first thing about storytelling and is often a detriment to other people who want to write something decent.

Because star fox sucks.
Its an on rails shooter and not a good one.
You think its fun because of nostalgia not because of quality.

I only know starfox from smash, why/how is this the case?

But foxy, I already assembled my delphinus r103 with aeon engines and cute burd drones, you can't repeat another Independence Day movie infection, cease your witchcraft now and lets talk things before the world acknowledges your cult.

The writers didn't know what to do after making multiple endings in Command.

Because Nintendo doesn't actually want to do Star Fox, outside of 64 the series regularly sells worse than fucking Metroid. Everything after 64 only happened because of Miyamoto.

Starfox is one of miyamoto's babies so he's involved with all the games and it never got big enough to escape his grasp like mario and Zelda did, so(almost) every time it gets a game he is in control of it and he thinks of starfox as a Tale like the events of of starfox snes/64/3d/zero/switch 2 are what makes star fox star fox. I think he's probably thought of making a sequel for a long time but he wants it to happen right after the first one is released again but the games are never successful enough to warrant it and it goes back into hibernation.

Adventures and Assault are the only real sequels to starfox and are likely not cannon anymore and I doubt we will see a continuation from those games. Same goes for 2 which was borderline a remake of the first game and was canceled l, only releasing on the mini snes and switch online over 20 years later.

I can't imagine rail shooters have ever been a very popular genre outside of arcades.

How do you make game from this long time ago on console like switch 2? Wasnt the old game largerly limited in scope? Why not do the thing Ion Fury did, grabbing the old engine and exploring the full capabilities of modern hardware instead of adding graphics to no doubt compromised video game?

>but a different story/premise and levels?
literally cannot fathom why anyone would want this, especially the same people who bend over backwards to hate remakes and remasters proclaiming to those who couldn't care less:

>>>I will just stick to the original
Some kind of galaxy brain level of irrationale at work.
