Any of you guys use big picture mode on your tv? Why is it such a piece of shit to get working smoothly? You have to do so much troubleshooting just to get it up and running on your tv with the sound functioning properly.
>>738432325i think you are just dumb, havent had a trouble at all connecting it to my sony tv
What's the best way to play Steam from my bed because I want to lie down while I vidya
>>738432325>connect hdmi from pc to tv>your pc now can output sound to tvhow can you fuck this up? is this the power of pc gaymers? are you still using line-in cables or something? or worse :vomits: displayport?
it's made for fat americans who can't move from their couch. They probably pay someone from Walmart to come set it up for them
>>738432325How can you not figure out big picture???
>>738432325OP outing himself as a mouthbreather.
>>738432325No. Why would it be any different on your TV, it's just another screen. Sounds like a problem with your TV.
>>738432325I set up playnite big picture. Steam Big Picture is fine though.
>>738433710steam deck or one of the other handheld PC thingsholding it while laying down is kind of annoying though because you'll compress your ulnar nerve and your hands will go numb
>>738433710Get a monitor specifically for comfy bed gaming and mount it accordingly.
My tv is hooked up as monitor 1 to my PC. Big picture is wonky with a 3 monitor setup so I just manually launch them and occasionally have to drag the windowed game to the tv to fullscreen it.
>>738433710STEAM FRAMETEAMFRAME
>>738432325retard you know sometimes you have to change your sound output on windows because windows thinks youre still using wireless headset or internal sound driver
>>738432325...what?Bro, your double-ended male 3.5mm cable?
>>738432325Are you retarded?
>>738432325If you want to get it to work correctly just use sound switch so it will change your default audio device when bpm activates or hotkey to change your audio device whenever you want. Then use steam setting to change the monitor to your Tv. Use your controller's home button to activate bpm. You'd think steam would in include a native way to change your audio device on bpm in steam on other OSs besides Linux. But soundswitch is free and open source and really easy to use
>>738438073https://soundswitch.aaflalo.me/Link to the website since I completely forgot how there is a bunch of stuff that have the same name.
>>738438154oh man I had no idea there was a new spin off from Audio Switcher, this shit is huge if youre like me and use big picture mode and a controller, that you could make a hot bind, then use steam input to make a global controller config, and then switch your sound settings with a combo press on a controller, i do this between the TV+Wireless headset I use. pretty handy without having to touch a mouse
>>738438073>>738438154Yeah this is what I'm talking about. I want to be able to use hotkeys to make all of this as quick as possible as I run into a lot of issues moving windows and running back and forth from my bedroom to my living room to make sure everything is working. I found a script that would react to a double tap of the controller home button to switch big picture mode to my tv, but the audio was a separate issue. Ideally I could do all this with a single autohotkey script but I'm really relying on the work of more gifted users hers.
>>738436575Still waiting for the first Linux release of Playnite this year...
>>738441980I just jerry-rigged retroarch into running arbitrary bash scripts via a "core"
>>738443969That's pretty cool, but I'll wait for the official release at this point.
