Don't post faggot nigger. Have no respect for torture and drugs and prison and you make shitty threads so should shut up.

It's a remake sequel precisely to honor the OG beats so purists wouldn't cry. The only significant emotional beats left to cover are the lifestream and the ending. After the lifestream sequence it's fair game to change everything and lead to a new ending.

Read OP's picture again, but this time, do it slowly.
VERY. slowly.

I'm saying it honors the OG while still being a completely different game and a sequel.

What turned me off the remake was pretty early on actually, when they showed that Avalanche didn't bomb the plant at all, their bomb failed and Shinra activated their own to stage a false flag.
Rectonning the bombing mission in this way completely removes the moral crisis that's integral to Barret's growth as a human being and the tension that he has between Reeve when he joins the party later on where Reeve is pissed at him for lashing out in retaliation for when Shinra attacked his hometown, Reeve has been working hard from within the system to try and make positive changes and Barret just strolls along and blows it all the fuck up.
That moral dilemma which was explored well in the original is just cut out of the remake, I assume, because it's difficult to explore. Instead you just reduce Shinra to being a cartoon villian who is clearly bad, and Barret has done nothing wrong.
