>>738443098It's an RTS.It plays in 2 setups: scenarios and story.The story is you being a gene stealer ant, you literally copy the genes of other ants to add to your army, however you're stuck in a scientist's laboratory so the story basically happens in the same 2 cages, each checkpoint being the scientists experimenting on you and mostly making you face other bugs.The scenarios are made like documentaries, you take control of different ants that have different units and you need to complete either some objective or outlive the enemies, for example defending against kidnapping ants or trying to harvest as many leaves as possible.The scenarios are not fully independent from the story: each time you play a scenario you gain resources for the story, such as food to grow more ants, jelly to unlock/improve your units or hive space to dig around the ant colony.It's fun, the harder difficulties can be challenging and interesting however I did rage a few times trying to unlock some achievements, to the point I never 100% it, though I did beat all levels on Impossible if I'm not mistaken.
Any of the Earth Defence Force games, though you're fighting endless hordes of them rather than playing as them.

As an avid invert fan and an owner of 30 tarantulas and a handful of scorpions, there has not been a mainstream game that has gotten spiders right.
