>>738444686HL2 is probably the first woke game
>>738444757Lmao yeah they'll retcon the ending for a different start in the next game as per usual.
>>738444686Fuck off Eli I'm not not robbing the CVS with you.

>>738444686>Gordon's face when

>>738444686This honestly kinda made HL2 Episode 2's ending feel completely pointless
>>738444757I sure fucking hope so, it completely removes episode 2's ending
>>738445073time travel is the <current year>'s deus ex machina
>>738445073Well yeah, it's a retcon. That's the whole point.
>>738444686>GORDON, YOU HAVE A DAUGHTER OF MINE TO IMPREGNATE!What did GabeN meant by this?
>>738446060Yeah it's pretty bad, but to be fair I think they really wrote themselves into a corner with Ep2
>>738445073In hindsight the Ep2 ending is a bit of a waste. The idea of Eli knowing something about the G-Man is compelling enough of a plot. Finally, after several games, someone actually said something about this fucking guy. Killing Eli off just when we were given that reveal was unnecessary. Still, the way they try to "fix" it in HLA was a bit awkward I must say.
>>738446710The problem really comes down to the fact Eli is the only guy who ever mentions Gman and just immediately dies, completely removing any stakes they setup. If instead, Eli brought Gman in a dialogue with other NPCs present, sparking a conversation about him and his activities and bringing to light the fact more than just Eli are aware of him, THEN leading to him dying later as a "Maybe Gman did this" situation, this could have raised the stakes: Now you know many people are aware of Gman, but also that he can just have you suicided for trying to interfere.
